What emergency kits do you keep in your car?

Factory Jack
Tyre weld
12v Tyre Inflator
First aid kit
Hi vis vest
Foil blanket
Kneel pad
Triangle
Fire extinguisher

Last 6 are all in a kit.

Absolutely nothing. Actually I have some wet wipes. :p

I've not even got a jack, spare tyre or tyre foam. I'll just ring my breakdown :D

I'm guessing those with a full survival kit must live in remote parts of the UK. Seems excessive (to me) to have all that stuff which you're ferrying around all the time.

My Megane came with a bunch of kit as standard, including my additions, I have:

Warning triangle
... Many hi-viz vests (from my travels around the continent, you end up getting 1 per passenger for each car, must have about 8)
Foil blanket
Torch
First Aid Kit
Spare bulbs & fuses
Spare oil, wiper fluid & water
Full-sized spare wheel (as standard with my car), wheel jack & brace

In the depths of winter I throw in a snow shovel and some de-icer/scraper.

The only thing I feel is missing is one of these, and a fire extinguisher:

Will probably just keep an eye out for one next time I'm at Halfords.

Almost all of the above is in a nice red kit that fits in an under-floor compartment under the boot floor, so it doesn't take up any room.

Hi-viz vests are in compartments under the footwell/floor mats (that the Megane conveniently has), so they're always within reach.

The Megane is brand new, I keep a set of jump leads in my 2010 Swift, as the car is older.

I live pretty rural, with toddler & pregnant wife (so soon to be 2 small kids in tow) - its important to have this stuff. :)

That'll put your premium up if you need to call them out (unless its free as part of a package, as is mine).

Always faster to do it yourself, as well ;).

Gloves
waterproof jacket (old one, so it doesn't matter if it gets oily)
Hi-vis vest
basic small socket set (like a 20-30 quid one from halfrauds)
oil (+ funnel)
used to have atf for the power steering
spare rad top hose
spare serpentine belt
water
1st aid kit (fairly basic)
jack and associated levers
some extra mats in the boot
blankets - one wool and one fleece rolled together
maps
foot pump
3-4m 12t braided rope and 2 shackles appropriate to rope size
tarp
jump leads
wind up torch
deck of cards in glovebox
antibacterial hand wash (requires no water)

Probably some other junk too.
None of these things were planned to be in the boot; I just ended up having to use them and they stayed put.
