Vehicle Tax Rate Table - What are you?

Really? It an older mustang?

As an additional, anyone still got their tax disc in the window? My RX8 still has and so had the Jeep as they're nice anodised holders... going to replace the tax sheet with a nice picture of them both. For me, seems a bit sad we no longer display them and not sure why I'm even bothered lol

It's not a UK car therefore it's imported under the SVA system, meaning it doesn't go through a full CO2 test and there is no data available to tax it. It's therefore taxed as a pre 2001 car even though it isn't, which was based on engine size.

S2000 is in band L (£490)
CR-V is in band J (£265)
Rocket is in band Bike over 600cc (£81) - This is comical actually because the bike is 1700cc over 600cc and has a bigger engine than both of my cars.

Ugh, I pay £836 per year in vehicle tax. I never added it up before.

Mental ain't it mate, same here, £1100 approx I pay for my cars/bike and inclusive of the wifes we're looking £1400 approx all in... each and every year... I must be mad lol

Band B at £20 a year for my filthy diesel 320d ED. Low tax was of no concern when I got it, but fuel economy was. Fortunately I find myself doing slightly less miles these days although still quite a few so a 3 litre diesel is next for me.

X5 is £280 (£290 band and registered LPG), VX220 is £290 band. 4.6L vs 2.0, although I run 95% on LPG so very little co2 at all for the X5.

Mazda 6 MPS registered before the 2006 changes so £290 sold my old 6mps and bought this one, made a little bit of money on the one I sold and saved 200 a year on the tax for the new one :)

£230, for a car that does ~2000 miles a year.

Compulsory 'put it on fuel' moan.

£230, for a car that does ~ 200 miles a year.

Compulsory 'put it on fuel' moan.

Then again, I only tax it for the months it gets used (generally April to September) which is a lot simpler to do with the direct debit method now.
