Yes they make money from viewers, but only if they sub/tip. Most viewers will not pay a thing so how would this help?

And you have an odd grasp when it comes to emblems and how people spend money on WoT, but whatever.

Fair point, but the point that Quckybaby, Jingles, Rita and a whole load more "Community Contributors" made was fully in line with the thoughts of the community. Quickybaby also gets numerous perks from WarGaming, such as invites to events and ViP passes at Tankfest, prizes to give out at streams etc. Do you think he would risk upsetting Wargaming if he (and more importantly, the community) did not strongly feel it was a bad idea, just for a few more viewers? However the number of viewers did not go up, so it is a moot point anyway.

A few people maybe. A lot of people more serious about the game would feel they would have to buy emblems for all their best tanks. This would have no bearing on those spamming gold ammo and they're happy to plough money into the game anyway.

Expecting a game with such huge overheads to be completely free is very naive while worse expecting others to keep paying your way is very self deserving.

Also I just want to answer an earlier point you made:

I have never seen a game with QB playing where he was not using some form of premium consumables (camo, food, repair pack, health pack, ammo, fire extinguisher, optics, rammer, etc.). These all either need to be paid for with money or credits in the same way as emblems were offered. These are already very much pay to win yet cause no outrage.

Granted, he often does, but the amount that say Large Repair Kits, Automatic Fire Extinguishers and Large Med Packs affect the game is far less than essentially an extra equipment slot for ventilation. Plus the fact that it costs 20,000 credits for one of these consumables and you keep it until you use it up, the "Emblem bonus" if bought for credits costs you half a million credits, then disappears after 30 days...

For some of us, who enjoy playing the game (even with the ****) and have many tanks in our garage, who like to remain competitive in those tanks, we don't want to have to fork out so much every month from in game currency to get those credits back or be forced to spend real money to counter that.
 
Whats a good earning and bang for buck premium tank to get. I don't think have the patience to grind my Tier 5's much further. Everything is now 900K to upgrade. I don't see any point going further with the Hellcat line. I kinda like the look of the Fury.

The Fury, Cromwell B and Rudy are all good tier 6 premiums, but they are only available during special events.

For big moneymakers, you probably want a tier 7/8 premium. Something like the FCM50T, IS6 or Panther 88. Or the SU122-44...

I would mention the Type 59, but I'd be trolling. :p

Personally I also like the Churchill III (Tier 5), but don't quote me on that. You could also look at the T-25.

I was unemployed when I discovered WOT, I ploughed endless hours into it, it was lots of fun, even at 15-20 FPS on a crappy PC.

I've lost all interest and not really bothered about another tank game, neither War Thunder ground or this Armoured Warfare either.

WOT really lost it for me when it nerfed all the vision play/camo and removed about 80% of the bushes from all the maps, to me the whole point of being a good player was using the game mechanics to your advantage, now it's just hit 2 twice and pew pew.

Ex 61% W/R + 3000 recent WN8 30k battle player.

SU122-44 is an awful tank...I wished I never bought it.

I cant say much as I've sunk way to much into the game cash wise.

T2 - T7 CC, Light MK6c,PZ2D
T3 - All of them baring the BT-SV (currently)
T4 - All of them
T5 - Most of them inc some rare ones
T6 - Yep see above
T7 - E25,Su122, A45(yep I was one of the 8k of nutter who bought that) and a few others
T8 - T34, IS6,FCM,WZ111,SuperP,Jag88,KanJag,54 mod 1

Not to mention all the gold camo, the prem time

I'm prob over £1k into the game for 3 years gaming time - which if I break it down is pretty good actually cost wise pre month seen as I play nothing but this - unless it grinds me down and I decide to play on something else for abit
 
I just changes my perspective on it. When people talk about pay to win I thought that meant 50~100 would be typical. If someone not that far removed, is putting those kinda large sums, its suggests its actually on an entirely different scale than I had imagined. The whole industry in fact.

Also why, apart from being not that good. The odds are stacked against players who don't invest massive amount of time and money into it.

Putting my money into this game which I have put thousands of hours into playing isn't to daft.

And I've certaingly not had much extra benefit - other then faster progression and more credit income, but thats not the be all. I'm still just a joe average player - feel free to look my detaisl on up on the likes of wotlife etc

I'm just working harder to learn the game I enjoy and become a better player, and then share that with my clan and friends who play the game.

But I try were possiable to stay away from the politics and arguments about the negative aspects of the game

I'll acknowladge them and agree they are issues, but everyoen one of the million plus players in the eu server has a diferent view of how to resolve or how it impacts.

I have a small following of 200 or so on Twitch and few on YouTube. And I just tell them honestly my views, but they are my own.

I'm not quite on the Community Contributior level - but I am working on that and being given guidence by a few well known names
 
Pay to play is different from pay to win.

I don't want to think about how much I've spent on the game, but my list is similar to tcfreer's, with a couple of extras such as the Type 59, PzH35f (tier 2) and I have a BT-SV...

A45 toon one day tcfreer? :p
 
Thought the £45-£50 I spent on the game was high heh.

Then again I didn't play that much so if it's something people spend a lot of time on then there's far worse vices to spend money on.
 
9.12 Patch released yesterday. What do people think?

Personally I could take or leave most of the changes. I think my fps has dropped, but it is still perfectly playable.

The Centurion Action X however is one awesome machine and has instantly become one of my favourite tanks to play.

Shame about the Chieftain. :(
 
I've been getting lag/warping but I was wondering was that my connection or ancient machine I'm using. I dunno what the changes are. Can't look it up from work.
 
since 9.12 i've had two horrible sessions, losing 2/3rds of the games i've played. Typified by a game in the Tortoise last night where I did 5600 damage and the closest on my team was 1600. I've not been playing too badly just seems like the level of idiot on my team is much higher than normal at the moment.

I've only had one game in the CAX and it seems awesome. (4400 damage and 4 kills as top tier on Steppes). The speed upgrade from the FV4202 has made a real difference. Can't tell the difference between the IS-8 and T10 but I don't have top turret or gun yet. Some of the new HD models, like the T34, look really good.
