Just a quick question, I have been looking around for a cheapish but decent bluetooth receiver that I could hook up to my older floor standing Editfier speakers.

This has RCA outputs and at present using a RCA - 3.5mm jack cable to connect the phone/laptop to play music though them.

I am looking to replace this with a bluetooth receiver so I can just stream the music to this device and play via the speakers.

Seen a few but not sure if I can link to them on here.

The one I was looking at is the Bayan StreamPort Universal (Black) Bluetooth Wireless adapter.

Seems it would do the job but was wondering if there is anything better out there. Music would generally be streamed via Spotify or played from 320kbps MP3's from the NAS.

Thanks for any advice.

Bayan looks good. It has AptX support, so if the device you are streaming from also has AptX then it would be an ideal choice. If it doesn't though, you could save £20 and grab the Logitech one. My mum has that connected to my old amp to stream music from her tablet. It does a very good job.

Thanks for the heads up.

I have the LG G3 which has AptX, just trying to find out if the Samsung Series 9 Ultrabook does from a few years back.

I will check out the Logitech one too :)

Just moved into a new place and trying to get things setup.

I've noticed that the QED U-play puck is £45 now. That used to get a lot of good reviews and was the best of the bunch for quite a while before Bluetooth music streaming became a lot more common. It used to sell for £60, but it is a few years old now though.

Thanks for the heads up Papa, will check this one out too :D

EDIT:

Seems its out of stock most places I have looked, I gather this has been replaced with a newer model?

No idea where that is/was stocked, but it does say on their site 'coming soon'. Maybe they've had trouble with supply. I'd buy something else, otherwise you might end up waiting a fair amount of time.

Stroke of luck really, I was walking down the highstreet on the way from work yesterday and saw that logitech one in the window of a small tech shop that was closing down, cost a fiver and its working a treat :D
