How much does your electricity cost you?

I use a prepay meter too and normal usage is £50-60 per month. However I recently went into hospital for 2 weeks, everything in the house was turned off apart from a single PC that was left on for automated downloads and an empty fridge (no freezer on that one) which i forgot to turn off. There was £30 on the meter the day i went into hospital and there was only ~£5 left on it the day i got out, it used almost exactly the same amount of electricity with no one in the house and almost everything turned off as it would have if i was there. Considering when i'm home the oven is used daily, microwave frequently, kettle more than it should, always a TV on (plasma too so power hogs), devices charging etc I find that ridiculous. The daily charges must be huge compared the actual cost of the electricity.

£20-25pm in a 3 bed end terrace on elec about £40pm on gas

2 occupancy, gas CH, we like it nice a warm, gaming rig + TV, fridgefreezer, elec oven + hob, dishwasher and washing machine

We just got a reduction in price for our gas and electricity from GBEnergy and now pay 9.550p per kWh and 25.50p per day standing charge for electricity and 2.800p per kWh and 7.00p per day standing charge for gas. Before the price cut my monthly bills were £40-42 (heating only occasionally on) and now with the price cut and the gas central heating now being on for 7-8 hours a day my latest bill was £58.75 which was massively cheaper than this time last year with M&S Energy.

around £80 month in elec :( thats with Solar assisting!

Powering my 6 x 2 x2 reef...... its an expensive hobby!

Was £1089 last year with British Gas with meter readings supplied every month, have recently moved to 1st Utility and if I use the same this year it will cost me £723.

We pay £55 pm for gas & electric.
3 bed house semi, just 2 of us, that includes running a fish tank & my pc along with all the usual house stuff.

12p KWH. Next DirectD will be £38pcm from a previous bill of £42 pcm.

Dual elec and gas bill. Cook on Induction, gas heating which I am yet to use this year.

One bed georgian flat, just me.

I need to get me some energy saving bulbs and also some thermal socks. Could save a lot by not whopping the heating on full as soon as I walk in the door.

Probably heavier user than most here for elec and that's with as much LED and energy saving bulbs / remote off switches as possible. As well as plug monitors and energy monitored house overall!

Roughly 500kW per month, but varies depending upon time of year (450 - 650kW)

10.8p per kW
24.6p standing charge
About £61 a month on average elec.

Heating is via gas (which varies wildly), cooking elec.

£50 a month 11p kwh. Pay £110 by dd for gas and elec and usually end up with a small surplus at the end of the year.
Gas CH and hob, elec ovens
Badly insulated 1780s cottage, 6 beds 3 bathrooms 2 adults 4 children.

£67 per month for both, but am £252 in credit. Not used much gas at all in the last 8 months. We're out of the house from 9am till 10pm on average 6 days a week though.

Should get that paid to you asap, better it sits in your account getting interest than the energy company's.

Based on the recommended DD I've just had set up with Flow Energy given the figures I supplied them with my last year's usage:

Gas £35
Electricity £30

Edit: 3 bed house, 2 adults, 1 3 year old, TV/PC on most of the day

Annual Usage is:

Elec Day: 2,467 units @ 11.762p = £290.17 (£24.18/month)
Elec Night: 338 units @ 6.179p = £20.89 (£1.74/month)
Standing Charge: 365 days @ 12.971p = £47.34 (£3.95/month)

Total: £358.40 (£29.87/month)

Gas: 13015 @ 2.784p = £362.34 (£30.20/month)
Standing Charge: 365 days @ 16.091p = £58.73 (£4.89/month)

Total: £421.07 (£35.09/month)

I was previously with OVO paying £100 (although I was getting in credit by ~£25/month)

Old figures with OVO:

Elec Day: 2,467 units @ 12.8205p = £316.28 (£26.35/month)
Elec Night: 338 units @ 7.455p = £25.20 (£2.10/month)
Standing Charge: 365 days @ 28.77p = £105.01 (£8.75/month)

Total: £446.49 (£37.21/month)

Gas: 13015 @ 3.4335p = £446.87 (£37.24/month)
Standing Charge: 365 days @ 27.2895p = £99.61 (£8.30/month)

Total: £546.48 (£45.54/month)
