Hey guys,

Im looking into getting a new controller as my PS3 keeps causing BSODs due to a dodgy connection. Ive bought a new wire and still dodgy so im thinking its the controller (its ages old anyway). At this point im used to a PS1-3 controller and as such ill be changing how I use controllers either way, be it to the Xbox standard with the Sabretooth or the Steam standard.

I don't intend on changing how I game on my PC with the controller so im not sure the Steam controller is meant for me. That said im not sure if the Sabretooth has adequate support on games that I may want to play with.

My typical usage of the controller will be for games such as Fifa, Mortal Kombat and pretty much anything that makes sense to be a controller. I plan to play through my Batman games using a controller for example and ive still got to go through Tomb Raider and Shadow of Mordor.

Any suggestions?

Why not just get a PS4 controller? Apparently you can use the touchpad for controlling your cursor (so i'm told), which is a bit gimmicky but could be handy.

Then you wouldn't need to worry about getting used to a new layout, or buying something you may not like using!

Its a good point but it felt a little weird getting a new controller for a system I don't currently own nor intend on owning.

Ive taken the plunge to buy a steam controller and im pretty sure ill get along with it... Ill have to!

If you want something to just work, with minimum fuss and work well.... get the 360 controller. The Xbox One controller is also excellent, but I don't have any personal experience with it connected to a PC to say if it's any good.

What I'd always recommend. Just about everything supports it, usually natively and it's inexpensive. Also a great controller in general. Prefer it to the XB1 controller in fact. DS4 probably beats it, but not by much and hardly anything natively supports it, though you can get it to work with most games still.
