**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

Guy on chat has no access to promos etc. Not his fault but yeah it's pretty lame if they supply it and say you can get 90 days worth but then you can't because I am not in the USA. Poor poor show really. Should campaign to say it's not on and then get something out of them.

Incidentally if you go directly through Play Music app it offers you 30 days free. If you go through Play Store app then to Play Music it offers you 60 days. WTF !!

So I fancied a power bank to go with my new 6P, bought this and it arrived today.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B015IZW5RM?ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0

Advertised as 'First Ever Power Bank with USB-C/Type-C Input & Output', but comes with only 2x USB-A to Micro USB cables! It does state in the description (lower down, not near the top) 'USB-C/Type-C charging cables not included.'

I can't help but feel really frustrated that unless I buy a USB-C/C cable (still really expensive for what they are), I can't get any use at all out of this thing.

Just a heads up for anyone else considering buying this

So I spoke to Google Chat just now and they said it's only in the US. Surely that is a misleading offer as the leaflet was in my phone pack. They should be providing something for UK phone owners.

I guess this has already been discussed to death here, I just didn't see it.

I got mine through the phone app and that was for 90 days. First time I've used Play Music subscription (I use the app for my own music only previously).

So anyone had issues with them bending or the glass on the back cracking, like those early videos?

I have had mine out the box then she took it off me and put it away for xmas.

Think it was originally 60 days but support guy said they were upping to 90 on delayed phones

Don't think the glass is as big a problem as the bending. If you're someone who puts your phone in jean pockets, its only a matter time before it bends. Interested to see if Huawei will release a revised hardware version in the near future.

These arrived today, a couple of quid from ebay. They have the cutout for the sensor so I hope the Spigen armour case allows for these to fit comfortably.

No bend issues yet on my 6P, the rear visor and 'crackgate' worries me more though. The only thing that annoys me about the 6P to be honest is the placement of the Power and Volume buttons. I feel they're way too close.

Rooted now with no issues, got a different kernel running to play around with CPU settings to see if I can improve battery performance. Keeping the stock ROM on it for now though as other than a better power menu I see no real need for a custom ROM.

Ordered my dBrand skin today looking forward too those, I got black titanium on the back and titanium on the sides, misses got cooper. Need to sort out some screen protectors now and should be solid.

Do you gain a huge amount from root these days, the last thing I rooted for was greenify and similar mods. At this point rather just have access to banking and future Android pay then root.

Of the two cheap Spigen cases (the black and the clear ordered weeks ago), the black is far and away better than the clear. The clear doesn't really enhance the phone's grip enough (it's got a half-rubbery, half-greasy feel that doesn't feel great), but the lip does mean that the small side bezels don't hinder the use of the phone, but it's not enough to make me want to use it. It does allow you to show off the great looks of the aluminium to a degree, but it definitely cheapens it. Probably a little better practically than naked, but aside from the protection it would give (doesn't bother me), I don't think it's enough to swing me from the stock phone. It's decent, but for a £440+ phone there are better options practically...

... which means the black is much more practical with it's grippyness, but that silver ring on the aluminium model does stand out. I think at the moment I'll be keeping the phone naked throughout the week, but at weekends I'll use the black case, and it will be useful in the longer mornings in bed for the weekends too, as, as I've said, trying to use the phone naked one-handed (scrolling for example) while lying in bed is near impossible for me. (add oooh, eerrs if necessary).

Adaway, Greenify, Betterbatterystats + Chroma ROM ad Kylo rom are my reasons.

Halifax works fine for banking and Android pay will work with root.

Adaway is something I miss, Doze seems too be okay and so far batterylife has been decent so don't need to monitor it. Not really used any custom roms since my Nexus 4 days though, anything huge I'm missing out on?
