I have the opposite, the coil whine sounds "louder" (although I think it's changing pitch rather than volume) with a lower brightness.

I had a go and it went the other way but then it was under artificial light so not ideal. Still it shows there's nothing glaringly wrong with these monitors.
I did find an annoying limit though which I guess is the nVidia card but with a 2nd DVI monitor plugged in direct or via a display port adapter G-Sync disables and the monitor is limited to 60Hz. Worked fine with the 40" VA panel via DP but that's gone downstairs for TV duties. So I'll have to find another DP monitor as a secondary.

But writing this now I can see the pixels surrounding this font, not a problem with 4k
in the osd options there is a blue light option,this may have an effect on blue tint, worth a look i guess
