Need help on choosing a fan for the 5820k

I am building a new PC and I can't find a suitable cpu cooler for my build. I have had a look at liquid cooling (more specifically the h100i) and there tend to be a few problems with them. For example the pump or spillage so that seems like it won't last. The nh-d15s is impressive but it's too big because it blocks the PCI-E slots and maybe RAM. My specs are:

NZXT h440 case
ASUS X99-S motherboard
Intel I7-5820k processor
HyperX Fury DDR4 16GB (4x4GB) 2133mhz RAM
ASUS Strix GTX 980 graphics card
Corsair HX 1200W PSU

Ive got a noctua d14 in my h440 and you can still use the top pci slot not sure about the d15 and if the heatsink is much bigger.

Id go for a aio tbh the h440 really struggles getting heat out and at least an aio will dump out not into the case.

I can't find any benchmarks for the matterhorn black cpu cooler but it does look like a nice size.
The nh-u14s doesn't block the first pci-e slot but it looks very close to it. Will there be enough room for the graphics card? Cause I heard it's bad if they touch.

Is that the d14? Or the d14s? And what motherboard are you using or does that not matter?

Noctua NH-D14 SE 2011

Is what i am using on a

gigabyte x99 sli

also

The fan clips are almost touching my VGA card!
On some mainboards, the fan clips may be very close to the rear side of VGA cards installed in the first PCI-E slot. Please insulate the fan clips using duct tape or shrink-on tubes in this case.

With sli, do I have to use the first pci-e slot? Cause then if not, having a cooler that blocks the first pci-e slot won't matter to me. If it does matter to have the first pci-e slot then I don't want a cooler that would be blocking or near the first pci-e slot.

Just search matterhorn cooler review there are plenty. You can use a measuring tape to get a rough idea of clearance.

I think so but I'd refer to the motherboard manual to be sure.

The matterhorn performs as well as the hyper 212 evo it seems and I don't know how well it would perform on my 5820k overclocked. Has anyone had any experience with liquid cooling? And do you know how often or likely that the liquid cooler would malfunction or spill?
