One of those spec me threads.

My son will be turning three in two weeks and I'm thinking of getting him a watch. He's constantly asking us what the time is and can sort of tell the time from wall clocks so hoping to help him develop that.

There's the Flik Flak range for 3+ here http://www.flikflak.com/en/watches/?age=3 but am wondering what others would recommend.

Also going to get him a lightsabre :)

We just got our boy a Spider-man watch when he started showing an interest in time. Lasted about 2 weeks till he got bored with it on.

My son had a few watches when that age. He loved superhero watches like spiderman and batman, etc. Don't spend much on it.

Depends if you want digital or analogue, digital is much easier and gives them a grasp on numbers, analog requires more thought and processing - much harder to grasp but more benefit in the long term.

You can get teaching watches in places like argos that have segments on the face to help them understand (also the lego watches are nice simple analogue watches) or you can pick up as simple digital one with his favourite character pretty much anywhere.

Definitely the Apple Watch then, you'll be able to change the watch face via his IPhone 6 Plus that all kids have these days!

But definitely a cool Iron Man watch :D

Thanks, that's really helpful.

For him it's Batman, Spiderman, Superman and he's not bothered about the rest lol.

£40 for a peppa pig 'smart' watch! For a 3 year old!

What a ridiculous question. He's 3, buy him the cheapest watch that tells time. Are you that ill equipped to make a decision on the benefits of a watch to the needs of a 3yr old. It's any wonder he's made it to 3 if that's the case. What information were you expecting to get?
