well as everyone knows from recent sad events that have just happened does it not wind some up when you see so many companies just milking the situation?

from twitter to facebook many use what is a terrible situation to there advantages.

sure many will be genuine but its also blatantly obvious that the situation gets media working.

what do people think about this ?

It never surprises me the lengths the media will go to. It's a cutthroat business where if you don't do it, someone else will.

It's the best reason not to watch any news, and read as little of it as humanly possible.
The media are all low-life scum, who rub their hands with glee, any time there's a disaster.

It's a disgusting practice that swings into action with fluidic smoothness these days. The little tidbits of unconfirmed information streaming across the screen, the "experts" drafted in to make assumptions and give opinion, the same emotive language used time and time again.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was a "Terrorist incident broadcasting 101" process folder somewhere in a documentation library, a guide for cookie cutting news reports during such events.

Sky are the worst for it, but the Beeb aren't far behind these days.

On the upside, Kay Burley got an absolute pasting on social media for her ridiculous dog post. With a bit of luck that's the beginning of the end of her vacuous career.

Milking how? Do you have any examples?

There's a few from her.

When was the last time your saw this?

I've not found the BBC to be particularly bad at this, do you have any examples?

e: Ah, I see the earlier examples. That's why I stick to the television news for the most part, it's more to the point for the most part. There are exceptions of course.

I was thinking about this in the bath about Paris. Ever notice how every minister or MP has to make a statement over Twitter or Facebook about how awful a certain disaster is, Or like Marine Le Pen has to get right in and profit before the people are even buried.

It is standard knowledge 99.9% of people feel the same way but these idiots just have to milk it to keep thier names in the media and relevant to society. Being honest i kind of even question a one minutes silence and what it also achieves. It is not like during that minute anything new will spring into my mind, Or i will gain any more respect or regret for the dead.

You would be better off doing something useful like sending a message to someone alive and suffering from the the disaster no? Especially these idiots raking in a fortune in public money. Send some flowers and visit the familys and keep your trap shut.

It is not just Kay Burley name me a British MP who did not? Sturgeon, Boris spring to mind the as two of the biggest repeat offenders. Heck She is so bad anyone remember Farage giving a speech and he said something about repulsive or vile and she had to interupt him to say "Yes you are" and i just wanted to die inside a little.

They cannot even keep quiet during a debate where you take turns nevermind not go into autopilot disaster milking mode.

Are you surprised? It is after all the very actions of those politicians that created and continue to create motivations for terrorists.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next attackers motivations are aggravated by the silly social media filter and our minute silence that ignored everyone elses suffering.

Western civilisation is fundamentally idiotic. It's like a child that aggravates a dog, gets bitten, and then reacts by aggravating it some more.

Firstly, how long have MPs been a part of the media? Secondly, I didn't argue the point I just said that to you can't judge all members of the media on the actions of Kay Burley. That's akin to tarring all MPs with the same brush as Farage - they're not all racist xenophobic bigots.

Yes it can... For profit Is had at the lowest common denomination.

I have no idea what you are saying here.

Sky has been exceptionally bad this morning, Lets go live to the most vile women in news and then quickly jump to someone else standing next to her then back to the studio for some adverts and straight back to the most vile women in news for an update of nothing.

It's almost like nothing else has happened in the world at all since Saturday. I had it on in the background for 30 min whilst getting ready for work and nothing at all was mentioned about anything else.

The discussions afterwards irritate me - before the sock puppets will say a word about the issue, all participants will try and outdo the last speaker for how traumatised they are.

Then the next one will be traumatised and shocked, then the next one will be traumatised and shocked and why will no one think of the children, and so on.

So that's 99% of the discussion with nothing achieved other than assuring everyone that they personally are the most shocked and traumatised person on TV today.

Just **** off, you weren't even there, attention seeking numpties.

Totally agree with this.

I mentioned to my wife that I cannot have a minutes silence for these people as I didn't have it for the Russian holidaymakers bombed out of the sky or for the Kenyian school kids shot in their class. Or for those in Beriut that also lost their lives without feeling like a Hypocrite.

Are Parisian lives more valuable?

It's a rhetorical question as I know the answer but it still feels like the very politicians that destabilised the whole region in the first place still can't see it.

Farage isn't an MP :D
