Hi guys,

So I've decided I wanted to try pc gaming after many many years on consoles!

Just wanted advice on what i should get! Should i get a pre-built one or built it myself?

I am a noob to all this, so apologies if my questions are abit basic.

What I'd use my PC for: I'd use it for gaming (obvious one) but also editing as I upload onto my YouTube channel, so a pc that doesn't feel challenged with video editing/rendering, also gaming to above average-high graphics quality.

Also the pc would need to put out to two Asus ROG Swift PG278Q Monitors, as I have already acquired these.

Thats basically the situation!

The other question is once I have the said PC, what components can I upgrade, are there certain ones I cant change? (basically, can I get a good pc now, then later buy the parts to make it an awesome pc overtime)

Sorry that this is quite long winded!

Thanks peeps!

Editing to Youtube in what regard?

We talking daily high res long video content or a couple of videos a month?

In terms of youtubing, 10min max video at 1080p minimum 4 times a month..with outlook to upload more??

I'm not sure on budget, please do tell me if this is silly, but preferabbly <£1000

Well in all honesty bud if you know nothing of the monitors and can't be bothered to look them up, maybe you should not try and spec people £1500's worth of components.

In all honesty I can make up specs all I like, they are suggestions, the op can spend their money on whatever they want..

Your making a big deal over a bloody graphics card

This g-sync/freesync stuff is a personal preference really

Well it is a big deal, he has 2 expensive monitors to play games on and you spec a GPU that doesn't make use of one of the monitors key selling points - GSYNC.

You can make them up all you want, however we have people who know what they are doing in speccing a PC, and with the amount of budget it's those people who need to be getting involved.

Do one bud, I don't need to know what a monitor is to make a spec, I was making a build on a random budget, I factored in the AMD for price aswell as being a good card..

Other than the gpu and 32bit os nothing I listed seems to be a problem given you not commenting on them, so all that needs doing is changing those 2 things, it's not bloody rocket science.

It's over what budget he has in mind so just drop it yeah.

This is not a thread to bicker on.

I know the specs of the monitor, I know how they work, they were gifted to me as a start up for a gaming set up.

Let me rephrase, based on the monitors I have and my requirements what would be the minimum pc parts required

4820k requires a X79 Socket 2011 motherboard and DDR3 RAM ;)

fs i looked up 2011 boards and processors(which was the only cpu going) and the ram was chosen because i chose a ddr4 board :)..

edit there is no x79 board on this site and the board i chose said i7 and there is only one that seems to be listed for 2011
