Best free CD burner?

Sorry, I did search but 'CD' brings up a lot.. :o

What's the best freeware CD burning software out there? The girlfriend wants to make a mixtape for her sister. Needs to be a proper audio CD to play on a proper CD player. Source will be MP3s but can re-encode if necessary.

If there's any good all-round BD/DVD/CD software then that would be good. I realised I have never used my BDRW to to do anything other than read discs!

Well for starters I wouldn't let iTunes anywhere near my PC :p Does Win8 even have WMP as standard? Can't say I've ever used it. Why install those when I can get a proper CD burner :)

Although it's been a while since I've burnt a CD/DVD. As far as I know the ability to burn MP3's is present in WMP already, it is installed in Windows 8.
