I was on chancery lane platform a man right at the end of the platform was peaking around the corner to see if the train was coming and it hit him. Broke the front of the train glass. The guy span around from the force holding his head. I ran up to staff and let them know. But don't think he made it. :( quite shaken up.

That's right by me, I see idiots getting too close on a daily basis and I don't know how it doesn't happen more often. Make sure you get some sort of counselling or speak to someone, even if you feel fine, seeing something like that will effect you.

Jeez, that sucks. I was on a train that someone decided to jump in front of once... Didn't see a thing, but still remember the sound and the bumps of the train. We stopped immediately and it wasn't announced for about half hour, but I somehow knew immediately what had happened.

That's right by me as well! I'd recommend speaking to someone or a counsellor as well, as that will have some mental effect.

Oh that is nasty, don't dwell on it if you can help it, there isn't anything you could have done. :(

Hope it doesn't affect you too badly :(

How stupid can people get though? Maybe it makes me a horrible person, but I find it very difficult to feel any sympathy for people who injure/kill themselves through idiocy

Accidents happen though, I'm sure the guy wasn't just sticking his head over the track for the fun of it.

I usually peek down the tunnel to see if the train is actually coming but I'm guessing at Chancery Lane there might be a curve or something preventing you from seeing it until it's right near by.

No wonder some platform staff are so militant (at my station they are nice enough about it) about standing behind the yellow line. What annoys me is that one idiot who decides to argue back every single morning.

It was very dumb thing to do as he was right at the end of the platform where the train comes in so he had no time to move out the way. So weird because I only stopped there quick to buy something from a shop as I'm on a day off travelling back from family meal from last night. Usually had no reason to stop at chancery lane.

On the way to the first Hobbit Imax premier a few years back and a man jumped off the bridge at Staines and hit the train carriage we occupied dead on. It was pretty grim. We were running late so we forced the doors open and exited. The clean up crew arrived and tbf the incident was sorted out within an hour. The weirdest thing i saw that day was actually the sand they put on the wet bits after cleaning it up some what. Just looked like standard sand (probably had some disinfecting agent in it) but it was stored in a red bucket with the words 'Fatality Sand' on it.

Googled it when i got home and no relevant results. Asked my gf who works as a first aider and has been present to a handful of these situations and she also has no idea.

Some people deal with these things better than others. I probably felt too far removed to sympathise at the time due to the death being a suicide and I feel people who use trains and such for suicide are selfish. They disrupt services and are done as a final cry for attention. Your experience is likely different as it was an accidental death and you saw it full on rather than from inside the train.

Take a day or two off work and get smashed, see friends, family, practice your hobby, indulge in a new game. Basically you want to put these events behind you by keeping yourself occupied if lies on your mind too much.
