Hello Peeps!

So I've been given two Asus ROG Swift PG278Q monitors to start my gaming pc build.

I'm still deciding on the build, however in the meantime, am I able to connected my laptop to one of the monitors via DP-VGA adapter (or DP-HDMI adapter).

Also will the monitor work with a ps4/xbone with a DP-HDMI adapter?

Thanks!

I can't imagine why not, but I doubt you'll get gysnc.

If you have been given them, and have a laptop, what's stopping you from testing?

Should do yes, Don't see why not but the monitor will default down to 60Hz 1080P and no G-Sync.

Haven't tried this myself, but when I was considering it, I did hear mentions of needing an active DP-HDMI rather than a passive adapter. Might be something you'll want to check.

I've had mine connected to my laptop, via miniDP though. I've only seen adaptors that work the other way (DP source to VGA/HDMI sink), but if you can find one it should work.

You won't get GSync of course.

Won't work unless you have an active (expensive) adapter.
That monitor does not have a hardware scaler and doe not have any HDMI chips at all. A passive adapter will not show a signal to the console. However active adapter are not proven to work either and they are expensive.

The problem is I don't know WHICH way it converts.
Does it matter?
Does it convert a displayport MONITOR into an HDMI computer (console output?)
or does it convert a displayport COMPUTER to a HDMI MONITOR ?

Try it and see if you have any luck. Good luck.
