Has anyone ever had a D5 pump die on them?

Got a D5 in a loop that's been running fine for a month now, started up the PC this evening and the fans are going wild and core temp shows the cpu at 70 degrees on idle!!!

I noticed that there isn't the normal turbulence in the reservoir when it started. Tested it on a separate psu and it's not working :(

Thought a pump would generally be reliable.....it's normally so silent and had no signs of going.

Anyone had this before? Draining the loop and swapping the pump will be such a pain :(

That is one of the reasons I keep "core temp 1.0 rc5" running, I've set the overheat protection to 70C.
So If my pump fails, my computer will shutdown in 2s after the cpu reach 70C or more.

^ i have the same :D, don't want the thing bursting into flames if the pump dies. I might put a flow meter in next time I replace the fluid, that would be a better way as it will shut down as soon as the flow stops rather than on temperature.

RMA to EK they will send you a replacement. Might even send you a new motor without sending the old one back.

Yeah the flow meter is a good idea.....luckily it happened on start-up and not in theImiddle of gaming etc when the coolant is hot and the CPU/GPU is under load.

it was a Alphacool D5......but ive bought a new one, which came today, so if they replace it under warranty, then ill have a spare :)
