we all know you lot love ebay threads, so here is another.

im about to go to the post office but still 50/50. I sold a gpu on ebay and the buyer has 2 feedback over a year old, both of them users no longer exist on ebay, secondly they asked for me to ship to an address else were as its a present , I emailed them saying this screams scam, they replyed saying they arnt mucking me about and to just send it to the paypal address , am I right in thinking even though im sending RMSD, ebay will still screw me over if it is a scam?

Yea ebay can still screw you, although i was always told to send stuff to the paypal address rather than the ebay address

I have some photos on my phone yes but still , ebay never listens to the seller though.

Hi, I have just paid the order. However, I forgot to change the address as it's a gift for someone else. Are you able to send it to: xxxxxxxxxxxxx, ATC, OXFORD AIRPORT, LANGFORD LANE, KIDLINGTON, OX5 1RA.

me - ( short version ) hi this screams scam all over it

Yeah I totally understand it and I don't use ebay often unfortunately.

Are you able to cancel the order and I can get my friend David to place an order?

Sorry about this but please could you let me know?

me - ebay Is full of scammers and really don't want to be ripped off

I sympathise with you and again I am sorry for mucking you around. I will write a feedback for you.

Will I receive this tomorrow via special delivery?

Low feedback which isn't recent, and also asking you to send to a different address? I'd avoid like the plague. Don't risk it matey.

Also what's point of saying it sounds like a scam? A scammer isn't gonna go "Oh right, you got me, hands up lol"

exactly lol, I have cancelled the transaction right now and it says it will send a refund. I am glad to not be taking the risk

Actually a guy called "Jack" rang our landline this morning claiming there was something wrong with my Windows computer. I called him out as I didn't have the time to play him along, his response was 'oh ok I'll try someone else then'

once the buyer accepts the refund, if they even do , will the amount I owe to ebay be remove or do I need to contact them?

should have called him back and said "Hi Jack, this is the bank. We've got an issue with your account. Can you please provide your debit card details to confirm you are Jack"

You should have sent him a couple of quid via PayPal for his honesty :D

Has no one noticed this is addressed to air traffic control at Oxford airport? Assuming you've not just used that as example address
Just confirm the guy works there and all is good. I get stuff sent to work all the time different to my billing address. I'd be a bit more worried if it wasn't addressed to.... an airport but some dodgy back street address.

I sell a lot on eBay, its a common question tbh. I just tell them no I can only post to the address on the order or I can cancel the order and they can place it again.

If it is a low value item with no tracking then I just change it anyway because I would not be covered.

But yeah I can't remember the last time someone actually tried that as a scam, all of them have seemed legit as far as I can remember!

This alone screams of scam. Sellers aren't protected if they send an item to a different address to what is specified in the "notification of an instant payment" email that you get from Paypal.
