I'm looking forward to Joe Rogan's thoughts on her loss, he was always spouting how she was one of the greatest ever and you could tell he thought she wouldn't be beaten anytime soon.

This just in: @danawhite is on our flight and will be joining us in the post #UFC193 podcast.

Just watched the fight twice and never felt so happy watching MMA.

It was like watching a matador tear apart a rampaging bull.

Holms standup was outstanding. clean, fast, deadly accurate and timed to perfection.

Just watched the whole event also.

Don't see Rhonda coming back from that. Also think that the women's divisions are not as stacked with as much quality as the mens. Still evolving somewhat perhaps...

Is it just me or does Rhonda not look as athletic as normal, has she been bulking or just not spent enough time in the gym before this fight?

I definitely thought it was an upset but as early as 30 seconds into the fight I could see Rousey was in trouble. I don't want to take anything away from Holm, who fought a perfect fight, but I thought her job was made easier by Rousey's ego. It seems like Rousey liked to beat people at their own game, like when she beat Correria standing up, but it was obvious that Holm is a fair more accomplished striker. At that point, Rousey should've done everything she could to take the fight to the ground.

At the end of the day, Rousey is a world class judoka who has learned to become a decent stand up fighter. She was up against a world class striker who had solid takedown defence. Her best chance was to take the fight to the ground and go for the submission. The fact she didn't seem to try to change her tactics speaks volumes about the quality of her game plan, as well as the poor advice she got between rounds.

Watch the video that I and EVH have posted, this wasn't about her wanting to stand with Holm, she couldn't get Holm down with her normal technique (storm forward punching get clinch and throw) Holm wasn't there and when she was, she used perfect technique to prevent the throw.

When she did get taken down, she got up out of there. She knew what she was doing.

Ronda had no idea how to deal with the lateral movement, everyone else gritted their teeth and fired back when she charged in, perfect to just charge through into the clinch. One thing Ronda does have is a decent chin, she takes shots to get the clinch.

Holly executed the perfect game plan and the perfect fight to deal with Ronda, it was really great to watch.

Lots of people keep asking why Ronda didn't shoot, it's because she is a Judoka not a wrestler, Judokas don't often if ever shoot, with the rules as they are now you can't just shoot (in judo)

Jones is looking ridiculously swoll right now.

And then compare that to what he looked like at the weigh-in for the Cormier fight and it's even more scary.

Is that post workout vs cold weigh in though. That makes a massive difference if it is.

Aye, of course, you're not wrong, but even then you can tell he's gained a significant amount of muscle. Have a gander at his Instagram, he's been powerlifting during his 'time off'. Hopefully he hasn't gone too far.

Rematch, generally speaking rematched should be done if it's a good close call hard decision or draw.

I wouldn't want to see Ronda go through that again!

I'd disagree tbh - one loss shouldn't put you back "in the pack" in terms of title shot's imo - Especially when you consider that Rousey has made exceptionally short work of every single other competitor put in front of her during her tenure as champion!

I think an immediate rematch is usually warranted for a champion losing his or her title!

Previously undefeated champ losing their title definitely warrants a rematch!

If it was close, or a controversial decision then i'd agree but not when the champion has just been absolutely demolished like that. I don't see an immediate rematch doing Rousey much good anyway, she needs time to seriously improve her standup.

Naturally that time means Holm can improve her ground game as well mind.

A relatively long standing champion losing is sometimes a good thing, it means the division is shaken up a bit and we get to see some different fights.

Let Holm fight Tate, and Rousey fight someone else. Then take it from there.
