What size of usb pen drive will I need to put win 10 on and what make should I go for.
Thanks.

any USB make will be fine, ive got a 4GB, 8GB and 32GB ones, the cheaper ones will be slow in speeds though.

I did a install of W10 from USB stick yesterday and the installer is just over 3GB. to be on the safe side I would get 8GB so you have space for any future increase of the W10 ISO.

Instead of starting a new thread i'll just ask my question here if you don't mind.

I have just today made a usb pen drive for win 10 for my upcoming system upgrade. I used my 32gb corsair usb 3.0 stick that was on offer last week. My question is this, is it ok to put other files that i want to backup (vlc, afterburner, gfx and mobo drivers etc) onto this stick also, or does it need to stay as a purely win10 install stick now?
It will be my first time installing windows without a disk so just wanted to make sure.

I would leave them off tbh. As you know, when you create the USB Win10 drive, it formats it anyway, probably to avoid issues.

Putting extra files on the disk will not affect the install at all. I'd suggest putting them all in a folder so you don't touch any of the installer files accidentally.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll stick the files on my 32gb stick in a separate folder, I had planned to do that anyway. It's my only 3.0 stick and I dont want to waste all that space for just a windows install.
I might make a secondary win 10 stick on one of my older 2.0 sticks as a just in case!

Cheers.
