it seems every few days a new vandalism thread appears and it seems its my turn to be the lucky one to have to write on a forum to have a moan at the morons who think kicking the crap out of someone's pride and joy is acceptable behavior.

Granted the damage isn't too bad, I've bent the wiper arms back into place and washed off the foot prints but its left a few thin layer scratches and a couple of dents.

its my wife's first car and she is pretty upset as you can imagine even though it could have been a lot worse, one of the foot prints is on the glass so I presume they wanted to smash that, there's nothing in the car to actually steal and if they were trying to make off with the car I guess they could have cut the roof.
judging by the small footprints I think its teenagers being little jerks thinking adults have an abundance of cash to fix whatever damage they do at just an inconvenience .

lived in the area 4 and a half years and this is the only damage we've had, while I was taking the photo's a neighbour rolled his window down and said a couple of weeks ago someone slashed all his tyres

great..... I guess I should expect more attacks and look for some cctv.

yey, more money to spend on the run up to Christmas.

I was thinking about leaving a written message in the window, any idea's what to write?

In my world the little ***** would end up spending the rest of their lives digging out coal with their bare hands in a penal colony on Svarlbard!

"This Prison has no walls. You can leave any time you want, but the bears are always hungry!"

********, I hate people who don't respect other peoples property.

My neighbourhood seems to go backwards too, been getting the odd small scratch/key or door ding mark once every few months ( have 3 cars tho so chance is higher I guess).

Some ***** kicked off the mirror of the Toyota about half a year ago,

Have had some tools stolen a few weeks ago, Hydraulic jack, torque wrench, and some other tools, while I was away from working on car for 30 mins :(.

Neighbourhood seems to be going down, neighbours said they often break in cars these days around here, one of em had all 4 alloys stolen recently, lots of numplates missing, and some drunk or high kids who hang in one of the garages ( public garage) and vandalise cars : mirrors, windscreen wipers, etc...

Ten years or so ago my dad had a numpty walk straight up the bonnet and over his black Saab 95. Jumped on the roof and dented it meaning an entirely new panel. *******s.

I feel your pain Philz0r :(

Did you call the police? There looks like there would have been some great opportunities for forensics on that car (for once!).

Police very rarely do anything. I had self expanding foam put in my exhaust, caught the kids on CCTV, printed off photos of their car (there were a few unique parts that made it easy to spot) and found out that they'd done similar things to 7 other cars that night. They gave them an £80 fine.

didn't bother reporting it to the police, years ago when I lived at my mum and dads, I phoned the police after someone smashed one of the windows and nothing ever happened, and they took all day to come around the house to file the complaint.

been looking at some cctv, seems you can get a decent package for £200, I think after Christmas ill be buying a bundle.

looking back at the door its a bit worse then I originally said, the whole door is covered in light scratches now. eugh.

the only thing I can think of someone to do this is, my st220 is currently under going repairs so I have it jacked up on one side of the drive and I've been using my 200sx to get about, because i haven't used the Nissan for a while, while I pumped the tyres up and checked everything I left the engine running, maybe that 20 minutes of exhaust drone was enough to have it in for us :S was about 10am so wasn't stupid early.
maybe I'm just over thinking it.

Speaking openly, it really does depend on what time this was, proximity to other folk and generally the disruption it would have caused.

Say if it was in the day, maybe late afternoon or early evening then no problem. If it were after 9/10pm then you were asking for trouble, especially if there are young children in the neighbourhood.

That's not to say I condone the behaviour at all, to make that clear. Of course, if it was in the day, I'd have not batted an eye lid. In fact I'd have come over and chatted about the car!

edit; read properly. 10am is fine! They should be hung :)

Having recently had to deal with my car as well as everyone else's in the street being quite badly keyed a few months back (all three panels on an Audi), I totally understand your frustration and need to vent!

I reported it to the police and while they did have a suspicion on who might have done it (a local little miscreant with an ASBO) they had insufficient evidence to actually do anything about it, but the fact that I reported it to the police and was able to receive an incident number meant that it didn't affect my insurance policy's no-claims bonus.

I had someone key a five symbol in the passenger door of my company car. The car itself is a joke. 09 plate and not a straight panel on it from the numptys who had it before me... didn't stop me wanting to track down the person who did it and key them. Pretty sure that happened round a mates house where I have to park on the road. I probably took up some ones private section of public highway

I wouldn't leave a note. Firstly they probably can't read and secondly it may spark a repeat performance.
