I filled the form out this morning asking for the fix parts, got a response this afternoon saying there was nothing wrong with the EU Wall-E sets and it only affected NA.

I have to explain further if I still think there is an issue. Can't be arsed TBH, set is in a display cabinet anyway and never likely to be sold.

I’m sorry you’re having problems with the neck of your LEGO® Ideas set 21303 WALL·E.
We’ve found that two pieces in the neck don’t have the right amount of clutch power. The combination of these pieces is causing WALL·E’s head to fall down instead of staying where it should.

I’ll be sending you new pieces that will work better. They’re being sent on order number 3xxxxxxxxxx and will arrive by mail in 5 working days.

When you receive the new pieces, you'll use them to replace the 2x 4211695 used on page 34 and the 2x 4265484 used on page 29.

I’m sorry there’s a problem with your LEGO® Ideas set 21303 WALL·E.

Like you, we’re big fans of this bold little robot and we wanted to make sure that LEGO WALL·E was just as fun as the character in the film. For that reason, we’ve given LEGO WALL·E the ability to turn his head all the way around. How else would he be able to spot EVE rocketing through space, dance like a movie star or save the planet?

In some sets that were manufactured in North America, we found that the bricks that hold up LEGO WALL·E’s head didn’t have the right amount of clutch power. We’ve checked all our European sets too and have found the bricks in those sets are working correctly.

However, if you still feel that something’s not quite right with your set, please let me know and I’ll do everything I can to help you further.

I know there are reports of other websites that have found a fix for the head swivel issue for the LEGO® Wall-E set no. 21303. Unfortunately, they are unofficial sites. The LEGO Group has not currently released the repair pieces/kits for that set at this time.
Because you have taken the time to write to us, your name has been added to a list, and you should be receiving the pieces/kit when we get the information back from the design team.
It would also be a good idea to occasionally check the www.LEGO.com website, because I personally think it will be posted when the parts are ready to be sent.

Haha...I often question myself with the hypothetical of what if I saw one of these in a charity shop for sale for like £50 or something. Would I buy it, knowingly ripping off a charity for thousands, could my conscience bear it? Probably! :D
 
There's a seperate issue with the American sets that causes head droop, which is different to the rotation problem were seeing. Some people on Brickset have been sent the pieces for this and been rather confused.

Seems Lego customer services are also confused.

Hell yes...

Value is a perception of the seller and buyer. My friends thinks i am crazy to spend £130 on a Red Five so £400 for a Falcon would be as extreme as paying £200 for afternoon tea in the Savoy to some people.

I remember seeing the UCS Falcon built (and for sale) in the dubai mall toy shop. I was ready to buy it there and then, thinking it'll be a few hundred or so. No biggie at the time, because I was making more and had zero outgoings. Nope the real price was over a £1000 and I just couldn't justify it no matter how much I tried :(
 
Question for Bipolar Kittens.

I really like the Mobile Excavator 8043, can you post a few more pics of yours, maybe in scale to some other pieces and do you think it's worth the £270ish it seems to be going for on Bricklink for a new & sealed one?

I'm tempted to get one but I'm a bit wary that the new Volvo EW160E (42053) Technic set for next year will have similar functionality.

No problem, anything in particular you'd like to see it with?

Regarding price, it was the flagship technic model at one point which always commands a premium, it is really good, it looks realistic and it's fully remote controlled. However, I'm not sure I'd want to pay £270 for it.
 
8043 is a great model, one of my fav builds however as above I'd avoid paying that for it. They come up on eBay all the time, most go for a big price but the odd one slips through for a bargain. I think I paid around £90 for a used one, stickers never been used and all pieces bagged up in perfect condition.
