5k budget, help me out please

if they dont know their stuff then they would check before making the order, who in the right mind has 5k and would just buy anything without checking it over?

one other thing, you havent even said why it wouldnt work?

too many graphic cards for the board/case? i could understand that as from older gaming boards all pcie slots dont share the same bandwidth and if theres not enough space in the case then its a waste

the additions of the big hdd, peripherals, sound card, wireless are stupid? personal preference and if you got that budget then you will want the best which in most cases cost the most

the bundle is pre-built so no issues there and if there was its OC's problem :)
 
Like others have said, just wait. you'd probably regret it in a years time or so when a new refresh is out.

@FixupSellon He doesnt need peripherals bud, but like others have said, i would hang on. Maybe see whats gonna suit the VR headset best when you start looking at them.

As for why it doesnt work,

Board to big for the case (E-ATX vs ATX)

DVD has no where to go as the case has no external 5.25" bay

The 5820K doesn't have that many PCI-E lanes for good 3-way SLI support.

Not sure where the sound card would go as it looks like the PCi-E 1X slots will be covered by the dual slot wide cards.
 
read the specs, the case supports atx and unless i looked at the wrong one, the board is also atx and i know people lurk the forums, but they will always research, i joined when i wanted information that i couldnt find on google.

i didnt realise it didnt take opticals and as for the gpu's i couldnt see anything in the description so i looked at the pic and assumed there were 3 slots, but having 3 way/quad is personal preference again, why have 5k and not entertain the idea ;).

i just added the sound card to make up the numbers, despite price, onboard probably good enough anyways.

If people research as you say and you offer advice, then they will end up with massive sad face as you have specced something that doesn't work, wasted their money as they would have to send stuff back etc and as you just said put stuff in just to "make up the numbers" so wasting money with items that are not needed.

No, I suggest you read the specs ;)

The board in that bundle is E-ATX - the case doesn't support a board of that size.

Edit - just to add, this forum has an enviable reputation for being helpful, friendly and informative. Many people do in fact take our advice then go on to buy the exact systems we've recommended. I'd expect a more responsible attitude when advising people on how to spend their money, whether it's £50 or £5000 :)

Yup. As I said earlier, posting these kind of 'fantasy spend loads of money' build are fine, providing you preface it by saying that you've spent the budget for the sake of spending it.

Take a look at some of Ethermaster's old specs - mostly grossly over-budget but usually full of colour themed bling :D

yeah okay i confused it i admit that..

i might not be an expert but i can mock up decent builds, but 5k is just a stupid amount to pay so i tried to make the numbers, but the one thing that you, i or anyone cant convince to buy is the case as that is the main personal preference with builds, so for my build you would change the case to one that fits everything and that you like and take the more wasteful purchases like 3 way sli and so on. ;)

i could say that, but can be self explanatory by whats in the list and knowing what you wont need/want ;)..

i try to theme the msi gaming stuff as they look nice(fav colour is red lol), but other than speed(i look at the speeds to what the board/budget allows) ram is ram as far as im concerned, ive got 8gb xms3 1600mhz stick and getting another for christmas, not because it makes sense, but because simply its just ram..

mean i like the sound of fury beast, dont mean id buy it if i didnt need to, also i dont do bling or know what is good bling lol.

other than the gpu being possibl too long and perhaps not the best/proper suited cpu, i cant see whats wrong with it?

mini itx case
mini itx board
ddr3 1600mhz ram(max the board supports)
case fits 3.5 and 2.5
takes an atx psu

now unless the psu is wrong fitment then i still cant see the wrong other than what i listed.


the builds are not crap if they work, but i could be boring and spec my exact system just with different ram/case/psu to everyone for the 500 range, but i dont :)

Why not spend 1k on an upgrade and buy me a system as I’m still on a ten year old PC on XP here. That way you get a few more FPS and a warm fuzzy feeling that ‘im forever grateful.:D

Joking aside I cant wait for a new system as I’m on such an old rig (Nov 2004) and one core it will be a whole new bal game when I do get one. Difference will be amazing I bet.

Sorry but everything I've seen you spec isn't even logical or makes sense. Also did you even read the opening post? He's explained from the get go he doesn't even need a case.
Also you don't just spec something because you can for the L0ll0l0ls. Yes people should do their research, do they? Not all the time. I like to think that if I were in said persons position I'd take time to think about what I was actually buying and not just stick a load of crap together that doesn't even work. If you don't have anything sensible to contribute, like the saying goes don't even bother
