TV series you wish were cancelled...

What are those shows you feel have ruined themselves by continuing or are just way past their sell by date?

The Walking Dead - it's turned boring, too much filler, no consistency, they're all idiots. Just simply awful.

Homeland - the last season was amazing, probably its best, but I feel they should have ended it there. The current one seems a bit pointless.

The Big Bang Theory - it's just not funny anymore. Penny ruined her looks too.

Archer - loved this to begin with but it is getting weak now.

walking dead: i can't believe how crap this has gone, and a good chunk of my life wasted watching all the seasons upto now.

rik needs dry bumming and going back to teachers where he was excellent.

Agreed, Walking Dead is well past it's prime but for some reason we can't stop watching it. The Mrs isn't enjoying this season, they've really strung out one particular plot thread to the point of ridiculousness but at least one of the filler episodes was interesting. Hopefully what's on the horizon with the new antagonist spices things up else it's getting removed from the planner.

Speaking of past shows, I really wish they had cancelled Falling Skies around series 3 instead of stretching it on and delivering the weakest ending I can remember of a TV series. Utterly terrible and felt like such a total let down after such a strong start. It had all the hallmarks of brilliance: great cast, plot basis, Spielberg involved etc. and they squandered it into a vague, floppy piece of tripe.

Don't get me started on Lost too. That was 2-3 series too long, and the ending to that. Yeesh. If Damien does it again with The Leftovers I may have to write a letter.

Ah-ha - I've finally found the "anti-me"! :p My thread

Agree with Big Bang - not found myself laughing at all this (or for the most part last) series!

Homeland could be OK to continue - at least they aren't spinning the Brody arc for the entire series - given series these days I keep expecting him to pop up and not be dead!

As far as the one's I'd like to see cancelled:

Warehouse 13 - never caught the bug and it's on its 5th or 6th season now!
Supernatural - just seems to be never ending and they have seriously run out of decent ideas!

...oh and every X-Factor/"celebrity"/reality TV series ever dreamed up! Just stop, please for the love of God, just stop!

Supernatural.

The first 5 seasons of this were great and season 5 in particular is some of the best television I have ever seen. The season 5 finale from start to finish was the perfect way to end the series and the original showrunner has said this was his intention but then they brought it back and it just hasn't been the same since.

Woah there. Lost is the greatest of all time! I may or may not have seen 6-7 times now. :o

The joy about this thread is you can just stop watching something you don't like. If enough people agree it will be cancelled.

Problem with me is that I just have to finish a show regardless of how bad I think it is, no idea why. It's why I'm forcing myself through The Walking Dead despite complaining in the thread week in week out about how terrible it is, much to the annoyance of everyone else probably!

Not strictly true - I've never watched the reality/celebrity TV carp that's been churned out over the last decade but as such have no influence over others following suit! (despite telling anyone who would listen!)

I think what I'll have to do is infiltrate the genre from it's very core, plant a virus and watch it burn...... mwah...HAHAHAHAHAHA! (in my very best evil genius voice :p)

No! Some of Lost was amazing - right up until the point when someone in a production meeting said "hey guys, this is a juggernaut of a money-spinner, lets get the writer to ditch the original story arc and shoe-horn in a few seasons of utter **** to bleed everyone dry!"

The by-product of Lost's success is that it seems to be the bench-mark by which all other series' are judged, leading to some promising one's being cancelled before their time! (imo!)

Your wish was granted about a year and a half ago :D - finished in May last year.

I gave up on Walking Dead because of the sheer tedium of every season being almost exactly the same.

Castle was pushing it last year but I kind of let it off - this season has been so mind-bogglingly terrible though it should be cancelled this second and never spoken of again

CSI Cyber should have been cancelled before it started

And obviously, anything where members of the public have a "journey" :D

I sort of wish Game of Thrones would be cancelled so it's not all people talk about when it's on. Seems overhyped in my opinion, has it's trash episodes just like any other series.

I can't remember any series where every episode was flawless or even good for that matter.

TOWIE and Geordie Shore are the types of series you really want cancelling.

Never even heard of a few of them, but if they're anything like the rest of the list the 10000000.294% agree.
