Breaking up... on Facebook

People need a tool like Facebook to make their life's look better than it actually is, abit sad really.

I don't think everyone is the same as that though. Some are very self aware on FB and can be very critical of themselves on the site.

Also, I've witnessed people try and make their lives look better in many respects in the real world and various social media outlets, I am sure you're not even immune to doing that in some capacity.

You can't really blame FB...

I don't understand why anyone would actually hate Facebook? It does it's job pretty damn well. There are annoying people on there, but if you add them.. Isn't that your fault? I use it to help keep in touch with friends around the world, and it's pretty damn good at that.

Because people without a facebook like to tout it like they're part of some elite.

With me living away from friends and family, it's quite convenient way to keep in touch.

The only thing worse than Facebook is people moaning about Facebook.

Use it, or don't use it, whichever... live and let live.

I use it, and there are people that irritate me with their vanity, obnoxiousness, perpetual sharing etc. but I don't moan about it, I unfollow them so I don't have to see their crap.

You don't even have to be registered to hear about it. At some point in peoples days they'll hear somebody constantly going on about it. It is on TV, radio, programmes, internet, email, work and other real life activities.

Just like phones. Put... the.... god... damn... thing... down!

Restaurants, doctors surgeries, hospitals, sports, cinemas, theatre, dentists, dinner time with the family. The heads are down. Or the arms are up filming.

I joined facebook 2009, deleted my account 2012. It was fun for a while, interesting to catch up with people who I knew when I was younger, "friends reunited" and all that. Ultimately the narcissism ruined it.

Mind you I'm a boring old *******.

Back in my days, we would discuss relationship problems face to face. Not dump them via Facebook / Twitter / Myspaces etc. Having said that, dumping by text message is almost just as bad!

I would love Facebook to have like a week outage and see how many people rage :D

People are far to involved in Facebook.

This. My family and friends share a Dropbox folder for photos etc. It's quick, and it just "works", even for my 86 y/o granny. No outside forces sending *pokes* or spammy 1-liners and other impersonal updates, or 1984 with privacy.

A single day doesn't pass without my being reminded of how pleased I am not to be on FB.

And this.

I'm friends with a married couple who quite often communicate via FB while they are in the same room.

Along the lines of "My darling hubby just brought me a cocoa and offered to rub my sore feet" and then you see him reply "You're welcome, i love you" and on and on it goes.

This makes me cringe so much. I think the one thing that annoys me more than people's dependence on Facebook is what some couples post to each other. Barrrffff!!!!!

I had some girl on Facebook today begging for help as she moved into her first flat bought a sky box and then complained it wouldn't work.. Some guy offered her help to go around and have a look.. He then discovered she didn't even have a sky dish nor a sky account... I haven't laughed so much lol

This is the only reason Facebook is good for.. Also some good video pages too.
