It's a shame that their linux driver sucks ***** for fuji based cards , It would make a cracking card for a steam machine if they did give it a reasonable price drop(If they could that is)
The situation with Fiji is crazy. At least the PowerPlay support is only a few months away and that helps a lot: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=amdgpu-powerplay-test&num=1
Still work to do on the drivers for Fiji. Older AMD cards work better.
Probably why they are all rocking Nvidia gpu's, zero point paying for one if it's going to perform like a 750Ti.
It's the same full Fiji chip, yes. Clocked much lower out of the box, but it can be overclocked to Fury X speeds.Am I right in thinking that the nano is almost the same card as the Fury x but without the AIO?

Exactly, I feel they missed a good opportunity with the nano and SteamMachines.
I think the problem with Linux is the user base is so small when it comes to gaming that amd is more likely looking at the future.. Once Vulkan drops and games start using it I be very shocked if performance wasn't up to standards.
Anyways nano at £400 would be sweet
If AMD were looking to the future they would have identified that Linux as a platform would see more usage. For example Steambox.
The problem is, AMD are not looking to the future, they can just about work out the here and now. If they were looking to the future we would not be in a position of poor supply for obvious demand.
SteamOS is waiting on Vulkan more so than anyone else.. Without Vulkan SteamOS is dead.
Amd nor nvidia or valve can speed up game development time.
Linux is hanging into Vulkan being good and good enough to give Microsoft directx a battle..
And only offering like 1/10th of the game library on Windows......You know what makes it even harder for SteamOS to prevail? One half the discrete GPU market vendors not properly doing Linux.
Linux/SteamOS gaming doesn't need "saving". Gaming on Linux/SteamOS has dramatically increased its playerbase in the last few years. If you look at Steams own stats you'll see Linux now accounts for 700,000+ gamers. The old excuse that Linux is an insignificant gaming platform can no longer be used. And the hardware manufactures need to wake up and start supporting it properly. It's got nothing to do with AMD lol even nvidia Linux driver sucks compared to directx.. The OS just sucks for gaming. The only thing that can save SteamOS/Linux is Vulkan API.
