If I was to text someone who is abroad who has an iPhone and I do and I send a say really long text does that get charged as one or does it break it down in to 160 character messages and charge you on that?

Thanks

If your friend has an internet connection then it will be sent as an iMessage, which is free. If no data connection then it will be sent as a text and broken down to the character limit, costs will depend on your friend's network and where they are.

That would only apply if both parties are on an iPhone!

Cool thanks guys appreciate it, you've saved me a fortune! The person is on a 20 hour bus journey and doesn't have internet, their texts seem to be coming through to me but mine aren't going through to them, annoying!
