New hostage situation in France possibly unfolding

Seems rather short sighted to attempt a bank robbery when France is on high alert.

Yeah, it doesn't add up. Sounds more like they just happened to pull some ISIS members on their way to Belgium, they bailed into a petrol station and took some hostages.....who happened to be a banker and his family. Pure speculation of course, but considering the location and reports of "AK47's" being used....

Hmm I don't want to jump to conclusions but it does seem weird if it were bank robbers. Then again I guess the majority of police would be patrolling high footfall areas maybe not so much at outskirts banks.

To be fair I imagine AKs aren't hard to get over there anymore especially with the recent migrant crisis.

You start off by saying you don't want to 'jump to conclusions' then go on to claim that AK's are being smuggled into France by migrants!
How exactly are they doing that? What evidence do you have to back that claim up??

Yeah I thought so, you pulled it straight from your ass (perhaps that's where the migrants are hiding the AK's!). Pathetic, any excuse to have a dig at immigrants/immigration hey!!

Looking more and more like it's not terrorist related after all. I think the local police have confirmed it, but I can't find anything official yet.

Really? Check my post history I'm not anti immigration. I have no proof whatsoever however with the amount of people coming from a country where they're not restricted surely it's not too hard to imagine people bringing them with them through these "stringent" border checks?

Hardly like I'm claiming they're all gun wielding nutters now is it.

I can already feel the huge disappointment from the resident bigots who were foaming at the mouth and willing it to be terrorist related!
Utterly pathetic and shameful !!

So you are 100% free of any bigotry yourself then? Cmon drop the act or we will have to send out membership papers for the OCUK high horse brigade.

Actually to be honest, Roubaix a more or less a fully arab town -- it was already the case 30 years ago; at the time they were in petty crime, so your stolen car was often found burned over there. Now they might be muslims for all I know...

Seriously, when I lived there 30 years ago, you *didn't* go to roubaix...

You're the one trying to drag this thread down so yes, pathetic and shameful.

Any one found any official knews on this yet? Such a sad world we live in were people are almost constantly living in fear of one another :(

Incidents with AK47s aren't actually _that_ unusual (and not directly related to terrorism) in France - atleast 2-3x a year (new) videos appear on ********, etc. of someone spraying up a street with one in some kind of dispute and/or robberies - one of the videos purporting to be from the recent Paris attacks, complete with sustained automatic gunfire and explosions was actually a dispute from months before.
