Hi, I bought this laptop off of a friend (like new. Almost 1 month old) and just double checking I haven't made a huge mistake since inhave a lack of knowledge of the laptop benchmarks.
It's an MSI laptop,16gb ram, gtx 965m, I7-4720 with 128gb ssd and a one tb hdd. Also backlit keys and a 15 inch display.
So is it a decent price or could I have had better? Thanks in advance.
P.s. Would this run Fallout 4 on med to high graphics at a reasonable fps?

At 15" and the price I am guessing it's 1080p, so although you might struggle turning everything to max, FO4 should be fine.

Hope this helps

Similar spec ones around £1100 on OC, however they have 17" screen but less ram.
Would have thought it should cope with FO4 ok, though I'm not well up on laptops.

1080p at least resolution? if its 720p i'd be unhappy

It does, cheers capital.

Yeah it's 1080p. I had a quick look at the same model of the laptop and the cheapest coming up was 1k and the rest 1200 made me think it'd be a good buy since its practically new.

Ok compared to this

I'd say £900 is fair to quite expensive. Still if you like it etc etc

Yes - edited to say "fair"

I am old and therefore expect all electronics to be worth 33% less the moent you open the box sorry!
Haha. Fair point, it did come with the box though! I'll put a little tape on it
He has more ram and i assume a 965 would be a better gpu, cpus are more or less the same performance.

Good to hear on the cpu front.

Thanks a bunch guys. Even if there is a better laptop new I know that I've not been completely ripped off and have got what I paid for.

I would say this is leaning on the boundary of paying to much would have been easy to find a similar CPU and a 970m for that sort of money.

Though as long as it works

EDIT

-15.6" Chassis
-Full HD Matte LED Screen
-Intel Core i7 4710MQ 2.5HZ with turbo boost to 3.5GHZ
-16GB DDR3
-Nvidia 980M 8GB
-Samsung 840 EVO 256GB

was/is on the members market for 950 so the gpu upgrade I would definitely say that it seems you over payed imho

I'm hoping they've given you the original invoice for the warranty. Personally I would have spent a little more and gone for a brand new one. Especially as OCUK is doing a lot of today only deals on laptops. I expect £950 would get a better brand new laptop on Black Friday.
