Hey guys, in msi afterburner i have my temp max at 83.

With no overclock i'm hitting 83c and the boost is scaling back to 1050, this is with the case open in a warm livingroom

Is this normal?

I'm not sure if the Zotac has the zero-fan option but I'd set a 1:1 profile in MSI Afterburner. That'll ramp up the fans when it gets a hot.

So is there something wrong with my card.

Everything stock, card on full load, fans on 100%. case open.

Temp at 81c with the card clocking its self between 950-1025mhz.

I made a thread ages ago about the temp, so i got a new case but its still happening...

Thoughts on a bad card?

That 100% sounds like something is up. I have a friend who barely hits 68 on full load on stock.

what you got ? the amp extreme ? coz I thought my card had unusual high temps, it was kicking up at 60c all the time, even when not gaming, so I changed my refresh rate to 60hz and the temps went down, ive turned it back up to 144hz and now i run on a manual setting at 40% fan setting, the temps never go above 35 with 60-70ish on full load....

Something wrong with your system.

Here is my 980 Ti SLI setup, if you look in the screenshot Im at 66c for the lower card.

The coolers on my cards are top notch but that only means a few degrees better than most.

If you are getting 83c there is something wrong,

Could be rubbish thermal paste. Have you tried replacing it?

My amp was exactly the same. Used to hit 80c so fast no matter what.

Ended up chucking a h55 onto it now and it doesnt go above 60c and boosts to 1227 on its own with no overclock.

Fyi any removal of the stock cooler voids warranty with zotac though.

yep, got furmark on gpu stress testing.

currently at
100% load
83c
911mhz clock
3505mhz memory

no overclock at all. Help guys?

Uninstall the card physically, reseat it in another slot reset to default all overclocking software, ddu driver uninstall and reinstall latest.

Try that first

The card was doing it on my old system, an i7-2600k in a bad case which convinced me to upgrade the case while doing the cpu for better airflow

So its had a fresh install and is continuing :(

Have you made sure all fans are turning propperly?

You could try flashing a new bios onto it see if it helps.
Think i have a custom zotac 980ti amp one with the power limits upped somewhere.
