I wish i got a hybrid

There is no reason why you shouldn't put the fans on say 10-25% for 0-60'C and then have it on a sharp incline all the way up to say 75% at 70'C.

I just have to recommend this case: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/phan...ase-with-window-titanium-green-ca-036-pt.html

It comes with 1X PH-F140SP fan and I added 2 more, so one in front pulling in, one exhausting out the rear and one exhausting out the top, seems to work very well. With my Inno 3D Air Boss UltraX4 980Ti running stock settings and boosting to 1366.9 playing Far Cry4 at 3180X2160 all ultra and gpu temp is 55c, 44% fan, just love this card and case, who needs AIO's. :D

I agree 80c is high for a 980ti, However its not "overheating" just manually bump the fan speed up. I personally always remove the coolers and apply good thermal paste correctly and that always knocks the temps down. However i would suggest a better case.

Uhhh, that's a horrible suggestion. Otherwise your card will sit in the cusp of 69-70, constantly going LOUD, quiet, LOUD, quiet.

You need a curve for best result.

Yep, you don't want a whooshing noise every few seconds.

Fans rev up, then down, then up, then down, etc. Balls to that. A custom fan profile in Afterburner and you're good to go. Youtube has videos of how to set one up.

The zotac cooler must be pretty poor if your in the 80s compared to some of the other 980ti's on the market. My MSI 980ti I have never seen hit above 65 on anything and its highly overclocked. I run the MSI on 100 percent fan speed all the time though because its very quiet.

To get the optimal custom fan setting, I find my minimum speed for required temperature i.e. 80% fan for 70C. I then find my optimal speed for idle and noise, i.e. 40% fan on idle (basically the speed where the noise stops being annoying at idle). Next, I set my fan flat line at idle speed, and set a trigger of 5-10C below my desired load temperature. At this trigger point, the line will increase to 100% fan at my maximum desired temperature (around 80C).

So, silent when idle and fast as required when called into action. The important thing is to find hire fast you need t your fans to keep the card cool. Stock fan curves usually don't kick the fans in fast enough on load.

My Titan X sc idles @22c with the EVGA hybrid cooler with the stock fan,not tryed it in games yet but it's knocked 10c+ off the idle of the stock cooler.
