I bought a new PC in 2012, which was for the time pretty decent, but I just read the minimum reqs for Battlefront and I felt sad. Anything I Could do to upgrade the below without costing an arm and a leg?

New GPU and you're golden :)

GTX970 / R9 380/390 or if you're feeling particularly saucy and flush, the GTX980ti :D

Oh, and overclock the CPU, obviously..

Thanks man, I'll see what happens on Black Friday and maybe score myself one of them :)

Anything I should look for? One thing I hate about my current GPU is that it sounds like 2 fighter jets having a MMA fight in the machine.

Just get a card with a good cooler. The MSI GTX 970 for example has zero fan mode when not under stress.

For AMD then the Sapphire Nitro R9 390 is another very good card.

What sort of money are you looking at spending ?

Get a new graphics card and overclock your cpu, 4ghz should be easy on your chip and depending on temps 4.5 could be attainable. If unsure how to overclock ask for help in the overclocking section.

What's your budget for a new card? Do you have a preference Nvidia or AMD?

I'm thinking about upping my RAM to meet the recommended specs but you should be Ok with a new Graphics card. If you're not too fussed it might be Ok on what you have now.

I have no set budget, I just want to make sure it's value for money. I'd rather not pay a few hundred quid extra for a few % extra performance. No preference for Nvidia or AMD, my current card is Nvidia and i'm happy with that.

Also last question before I pull the trigger, the game that I'm awaiting more than any other is Total War: Warhammer.

Would a new GPU be enough to handle that?

The CPU is overclocked to 4.3 at the moment, I had it at 4.5 which worked fine until the room got to hot and the CPU Would overheat and BSOD. So I dropped it to 4.3 and now works really well.

Hope you got your money worth as battlefront is lacking now, day after Christmas I installed the game and bam constant games on the multiplayer, now after couples of weeks not playing I seem to come up the short straw like others, took me half hour at least to find a game lol it sees console is more popular.

Anyways on another note I know it's late, but you don't need a 280-600 quid graphics card for this game, don't even need to spend 150.

Yeah battlefront is a massive let down :(

Waiting for the Total War now, on the flip side it made total war shogun so much more fun :D
