I've bought more RAM to fill the slots in my mobo (more for aesthetics really) Will it affect my cpu overclock? I'll just be dropping the two 4gig sticks in to make me have 4 x4gig worth in the mobo.

Mobo is Rampage Extreme 4

it can do yes, but no two cases are the same.
Save bios setting before fitting then you have a backup point should you need it

if you kits dont match 100% put the slower ram is slots 1 and 3 then the faster ram will slow to the same speed and not run unstable. the same ram that not from the same kit can have different timings.

It's the same RAM in terms of make, speed and design. I'll have a look for teh bios setting backup though, good shout.

same ram is not always the same.
it may be the case that both kits are.
Team ddr3 1600mhz 9, 9, 9, 11,

but when you go passed the 4 shows setting on the box there is about 40 more timing in bios. and i my self have had the 100% same kits but one or 2 of the setting was not the same and with the kit that was better timed in the master slot my system was unstable.
