Lord's Prayer cinema ad snub 'bewilders' Church of England

Atheism just isn't a belief system. I've not been labelled for my absence of belief in santa and fairies. Please justify that.

When I was at school (I'm 26 now), both primary and secondary, no one ever mentioned the possibility of not believing in any religion or God. In primary school, until I came to my senses, I was led to believe you had to have a religion. Now I realise that's BS.

The baggage you refer to is the burden of religion's existence! We don't want our children indoctrinated like we were, and I certainly don't want any decisions made on my behalf by the government for which the opinion of any religion has any impact.

Is some Islamic group payed for us all to listen to some sermons or play videos of muslim aid at work and 10 minutes of prayer i wouldn't be impressed. Therefore the same is true for the Lords prayer.

Theism isn't a belief system either - but it can be part of one. Just like atheism.

There are dogmatic atheists and non-dogmatic ones. I'd say New Atheism, as espoused by Dawkins, Hitchens, Dennet et al is a broad belief system and should probably be taught in RE.

What part about 'Atheism is not a belief system' don't you understand? Or are you just trolling?

I understand but I disagree -in part. There are varieties of atheism.

I take it you'd put theism as a belief system? If so, we disagree on that too.

I take either of them to be both-and not necessarily either-or.

Either atheism or theism can be unsystematic or systematic.

Agnostics are actually atheists. This is because they have not accepted the theistic claims. As belief in a god is a binary proposition, not accepting the theistic claim automatically makes you an atheist.

I don't agree, agnosticism is like being bi-curious.. Your basically on the fence.

Agnostic... There might be something in it.
Atheism... Nah it's nonsense but whatever.
Anti theist.. It's nonsense and I have a problem with those who think otherwise.

I don't like the antitheist stance as I think people can belive what they want as long as they don't interfere with normal people, but it's the closest pigeon hole I can find.

Wrong. Agnostics do not accept theistic claims and as the existence of a god/s is a binary proposition, either there is or is not a god/s, then they are by default, atheists.

Atheism/Theism addresses belief. Agnosticism/Gnosticism addresses knowledge, what you know.

I am an agnostic atheist as I do not believe in a god/s existence but at the same time, I can not affirm that there is no god/s.

Silver - surely you remember our exchanges over the years? In a number of threads you have presented as fact what I believe to be systematic Atheist dogma. Agnosticism being a type of atheism is a perfect example.

My explanations are correct, and do not require your agreement, so as such, no worries. ;)

More evidence that Christians need to clean up their own act before advertising for new followers. Just like Isis, here are Christians cheering on the Planned Parenthood attacker who killed 3 (2 customers and 1 police officer) and injured many more.

Planned Parenthood is a sexual health provider including sonograms, birth control and cancer screenings for both sex's. Christians want it shut down, although its clear their pro life stance is really just anti choice as innocent people have been killed and they are happy... when will this nonsense end?

but none of those quotes don't mention god or their religion at all.

you dont have to be Christian to be in the pro life camp

in fact the comments section at the bottom is full of Christians saying the shooter (who by the way has not been identified as having done this because of religion, they dont even know his religion, so you're jumping to conclusions) doesnt represent them or god or Jesus etc.

Funny that all the anti planned parenthood lies came from Carly Fiorina, noted Christian, and sponsored by many a anti choice christian organisation.

Edit. Go on the twitter pages of the people quoted, you'll find very quickly that they are "christian"
