It is a bit of misdirection though! A grand off some of the high end gaming pc's would have been sweet!

Yes it would have been sweet to a consumer, but it's also unrealistic.

You have to remember, they're a business, not a charity.

I am a January sales man myself, When retailers need to get rid of old stock for the new 2016 stock. What actually is the push for them to discount on black friday? Clearance for xmas items or what?

So...

Seen the banner -- HUGE DISCOUNTS, BLACK WEEK... blah blah

these HUGH Discounts are.... £7 - £10 off 80% of items on the list and the rest is like 2-5%

Sorry OCUK but your normal Weekly deals are better than this, Its UTTERLY Pathetic.

The ONLY deal i would say is worth anything is the 40" monitor one.

quoting this because its awesome

Well I needed some new RAM and a new SSD so getting 33% off on each of them was helpful.

I tend not to shop in sales anyway but this coincided with my needing of stuff so worked out quite well.

Hype to get people buying for Xmas I would suggest. The theory came from the US didn't it? Retailers would sell a single TV for $5 but hundreds of people would be in-store and would riot over the $5 TV, putting the retailers on the news and getting hundreds of people in the shop - potentially buying many others things.

Is it? Wasn't it exactly as described?

I am sure you will hit your 1 million target in sales, good on you for that. OCUK are only doing what every other big company does on big Friday, and you have great customer service, I get it.

A few jucier deals would have been great though. Last month I bought a 2 and a half grand guitar amp for 1200 quid, so these deals still do happen, just not on pc parts it seems.

I don't work for the shop :)

You're really hung up on this aren't you? It's at least the 4th time I've seen you spout your issue.

Get over it, it's £1000 off, no one lied. Stop being a fool.

Only cause i couldnt find it listed on the black friday page. Not my fault that its listed elsewhere :P

But happy now I know its that item and is indeed £1,000 off ;)

There's nothing on offer with enough discount that I want, so I wont purchase it. Quite simple really!

I won't have a rant though.

I thought it was originally to get rid of all old unsold stock before xmas so they had space.

Hence the genuine bargains of £100 items been sold for £5 but quite often maybe only one item of each available.

It now seems to have changed into just a general 10% off sale at every retailer with the occasional genuine massive bargain hidden away in hundreds of pages of mediocre discounts.
