God this country, any little thing & people freak out...

LOL, I was about to ask you the same thing.

Where have you got the stats to back up your 'vast majority' claim?
Worked with loads of US/Canadian ex-pats who used to take the **** out of Reeces as a the vilest chocolate you could get in NA, with Reeces Pieces being the most laughed at. I was quite shocked when they managed to wangle their way into our market, especially after tasting them and verifying the claims.

That's fairly anecdotal tbh, and is only selectively being used because it happens to coincide with your own opinion.

While I would say they can be a little sickly sweet, I don't agree.
End of the day, it's personal preference, not fact.

Comes out the same, does it really matter?

Yes, it does rather matter, when one is hanging things on a tree, one tends to prefer they don't look like shaped balls of excrement.
I don't tend to display what comes out the other end for a month, put on display for everything to see the festive cheer from my arse.

They really don't look like trees. People complaining on Twitter isn't strange, but an article about people complaining is strange. A thread about an article about people complaining about it is also strange

Why is their appearance an issue? My custard cream packs often have examples where the embossed side is on the inside, so the outside facing biscuit is plain and un-custard cream like. Do i complain? No!

It goes in one end, and comes out the other looking completely different.

Have to admit it is a pretty poor effort by the manufacturer. I would also wonder WTH I bought as well lol.

I worked with a lot of them overseas. As teachers of our respective cultures, chocolate came up a lot. Not one person spoke positively of Reeces, including the students who'd tried them on trips.
It was after that I tasted them, and I found myself agreeing with everything I'd learned.

It may be anecdotal but I would hedge a large bet I've met substantially more people who dislike them, than you have met people who liked them.

You've even confirmed they're sickly sweet yourself. Most people's tolerance for sickly sweet nosedives into adulthood. I love sweet, but not this poorly made garbage.

Reece's are ****ing delicious. Are you sure you're not thinking of Hershey's? I have yet to meet someone that doesn't like them so I would hedge a large bet that I've met substantially more people who like them than you have met people who dislike them.

What an entirely silly thing to say.

I honestly don't know why you're trying so hard to prove that your opinion is somehow fact, D3K.
It is to you and some others, but that's as far as it goes. You either like something or you don't and you don't happen to like them. That's it. End of.
Just because you've met others that share your opinion, that doesn't mean it's absolute.

I'm not arguing that they're the height of quality confectionery or anything.
