X99 vs Z170 Motherboard and CPU

So ive decided to upgrade and in need of advice. Im coming from a Z77 1155 and have decided to go for either a x99 2011 v3 or a Z170 1151.

Ive chose the Asus Maximus V/III Extreme either way purely as its a mobo ive always wanted ( :D ) but i just need to decide which.

Im swaying towards X99 for performance but i think the Z170 mobo is more aesthetically pleasing.

Taking cost out of the equation what would be better in regards of;
Performance
CPU choices
Raid 0
Pascal GPU's ?
SLI'ing
General future proofing

Performance - slightly faster Skylake
CPU choices - cores come into play
Raid 0 - m2 slot makes it vois
Pascal GPU's ? who knows
SLI'ing - X99
General future proofing - depends on the above
