Hi all, im currently on a Virgin Media 152mb connection and I have the original Superhub, does this support the 200mb they're upgrading people to?

Also the main question is, does Kodi/other home theatre type apps support playback from USB Storage connected to a router? I ask this because im thinking of turning my Superhub into a modem exclusively and connecting it to a powerful router which supports USB Storage as well as the best Wifi etc etc, ideally connected to a Shield TV as that supports 4k playback etc, does anyone have any recommendations for a good, high quality router? and hopefully the answer to my other questions as well :) thank you for the help!

Asus AC68U would fit the bill perfectly. Just drop Merlin firmware on it (or Shibby's if you need the extra features) and you're good to go.

I think the SH1 will cope with it, if ti didn't they'd send you an upgrade FOC.

Kodi will be fine, when you plug a USB stick into a router you normally get the option to share it via Samba and Kodi can map a samba share with no problems.
