When do you put up your xmas decorations?

I dont know if we will have any this year apart from lights. Wont be home for Christmas so Im not sure if I want to add a tree to take space in this small flat.
But I would do lights etc first of December and tree on the weekend before Christmas (if real tree).

Usually don't bother, blinds are always shut so the neighbours won't see it and I don't care enough to make an effort just for me and the missus.

We really get into Xmas spirit on Xmas eve and put up a few decorations and take them down on boxing day.:D

If you are talking about the real Xmas spirit we have usually drunk it before xmas.

Yesterday. Just a few lights, nothing over the top. The cat destroys trees otherwise I'd have a natural tree too.

Parents always done two weeks before, two weeks after but I tend to go back up North to my parents from the 23rd so put them up a bit earlier and take them down when my hangover from New Year has worn off. No mentions of Christmas before 1st December please! :p

It seems to get earlier every year.
Some shops by us had decorations up 3rd week of October FFS!

Ours will probably be up 2nd weekend of December, which I think is plenty early enough.

Traditionally in Europe one is supposed to dress Xmas tree and the table on the morning of the Christmas Eve or The Vigil (Dec 24) and maintain decorations for no longer than until The Day of The Three Kings ( Jan 6).

In new world tradition (US and such) "festive season" for Xmas Trees and such often extends from The Day Of St. Nicholas ( Dec 6) until 12 days after Xmas ( Jan 5/6th).

Anything earlier than that and anything longer than that is just misguided commercial douchebaggery.

I don't care for Christmas. I still do all the sociable things, but I personally couldn't give a hoop. Needless to say, I don't bother with decorations.

I do find it odd that atheists celebrate Christmas though.
