What to replace a 2009 BMW 335i with?

The only other car which meets the spec, which isn't popular, has AWD, an engine which can be improved and is fast is the Nissan GTR.

It isn't proper AMG. It's the Merc equivalent of, say, an M235i (in it's relationship to the performance brand, I appreciate it isnt a 2 Series).

Yes sorry you're right I just read this - I read something conflicting elsewhere but it does carry a lot of components from the C63- "More importantly, the suspension, brakes and steering are carried over from the C 63."

I need to go and drive some cars. Thanks for input everyone, really appreciated

Eh, its on a 2014?

As SDK says that A4 was originally available in 2008 and has an infotainment system that reflects that. Fine when you're only spending £5k on a banger, but 8x that? No thanks.

At least when BMW ran the E9x from 2006-2013 they changed the infotainment a few years in to an up-to-date system that is still very usable today.

Only because Audi flog horses to death for much longer - it's a car designed years ago and is far more similar to his current 2009 car than any of the more modern alternatives and will feel every bit like that when he gets in for a drive.

Bloody reps moaning about your toys and model ages. Quick, keep up with the jones's :D

**** that, buy it on how it makes you feel when you drive it!!!!

Never see me in a diesel saloon car!!

:(

...though to be fair an F10 M5 is MILES better, the B8 RS4 was a real disappointment after the B7....and I always felt that missed the mark a bit, so the B8 was a much bigger miss.

....but it ticks the OP's boxes of some car with X price and some features.

I linked the M5 earlier but being RWD I figured it would share the same issues as the 335i he currently has.

I think the Alpina B3 really is something different. It's also got the same engine as your twin turbo 335i. They're rare and residuals tend to be quite strong.

The one at Sytner Nottingham was dripping with spec as well. 404 from the factory - you know there's room for more as well if you need it. Sure, it's RWD but isn't that part of the fun? ;)
And it comes with an Akropovic exhaust :D

How about a Porsche Panamera 4 or 4S?

It wouldn't be much newer than your E90, but is in a class (or several) above, in terms of feel, dynamics and performance - 400 bhp stock in a 4S.

Running costs a slightly different story perhaps, but then again many of the other cars mentioned so far would be similar.
