Hi all,

Does anyone know of any reputable companies that cover cars with modifications and also cover track use? I figure it may work out cheaper than paying ~ £100 per trackday.

Cheers.

I think it was Greenlight that offered it to me, you still had to pay per track day but it was only something like £25 per day. Saying that i did several track days and never actually did it so i never bothered looking out for it afterwards..

I'm with Keith Michaels (broker but my actual insurer is Liverpool Victoria I think) who charge £50-60 per track day and £75 per trackday outside of the UK.

I only went with them as I struggled to find insurance last year but now I've changed cars I'm going to try CCI as they offer 5 track days free per year I think. But saying that, I've found Keith Michaels very very good. I speak to the same person every time (Jeremy) and they don't charge for changes on the policy (modifications, numberplate etc) and aren't too fussed on modifications unless they alter the power a fair bit.

Greenlight do indeed offer it, was £45 for me the last time I checked. I've got 6 and although the premium increased significantly due to one of the offence codes if you've just got an SP30 you'll be fine.

I also have a policy with Keith Michaels via Jeremy, they seem pretty good so far and quite good at accommodating for things most companies dont want to know about.

Hi there

Classic Line insure my M3 on a classic policy, so I don't use any NCB on it, around 5000 miles per annum (not sure what limit is for classic policy), vehicle value increase above book value to £15,000 due to modifications and includes unlimited track day cover with £500 or £1000 excess.

Cost me £440 per year and I am fully covered road UK/Europe and tracks UK/Europe and I don't even need to inform them and its unlimited.

Also Bridle insurance, A-Plan, Greenlight can also provide quotes with track cover.

Cheers Gibbo, that's a good price/deal and the sort of thing I'd be looking for.

Also these guys are very competitive:

£550 on the 911 with track cover.

But they can be very snobby and will only tend to insure Aston, Porsche or TVR. Worth a try though!! :)

When I asked about my BMW the response was, too common, get a decent car. :D

Just rang Keith Michaels to chase up my quote and got the most unhelpful bloke ever, who promised to 'look into my quote' and call me back.
