If one has a fleet of vehicles, and uses fuel cards for all of these, is there something which allows the company to collect reward points (clubcard, nectar esque) which can later be redeemed for something?

No idea whether you guys will know of something like this, but thought it was worth a shot!

It depends on the type of card. Our fuelcard provider is also our car provider, so it's probably something arranged between the two parties.

Our car provider is completely separate from our fuel card provider. Would there be something which is purely from the fuel card provider which allows the collection of rewards points?

The only way I can perceive the company benefiting from Nectar/Clubcard points would be to have an account for each and give each employee a duplicate of said card, a bit like when Tesco send you fobs/cards to give to each family member.

But ensuring they used them and not their own would be difficult to enforce. You'd be able to spot it by reconciling fills to clubcard/nectar points received but it's a bit long winded.

I don't know that Nectar/Clubcard and the likes are intended for corporate benefit but do know individuals that successfully claim these points & rewards for themselves with company fuel cards.

I had a company car and card waaaay back when (About 10 yrs) when I left the company I ended up with over £1000 credit on my nectar card. (BP fuels)

The company was not bothered in the slightest at the time.

Some fuel cards dont allow the points to be collected. Others do. And then they can be collected centrally when I used to work in transport.

We used to get argos vouchers with one card and when my boss stopped the drivers getting the points, we used to get several hundred pounds worth per month.

I remember one driver been miffed as he told me he got £400 of argos vouchers per year and used to save them for xmas and buy all his kids presents with them.

I could understand it if it was stopped for a cheaper provider but to just have the vouchers collected centrally seems a bit harsh.

I use my nectar card with my company fuel card, thing is BP tend to be more expensive than other petrol stations so it probably ends up costing the company more.

My boss was been greedy that was all. He then got thousands of pounds of argos vouchers and used that to buy his kid's xmas presents each year.

He may be greedy, but I bet most of us would take advantage of it if we owned our own businesses.

Yeah still a bit of a kick in the teeth for the drivers though who saw that as their xmas bonus.

This was 20+ years ago so the driver I was talking too was buying tvs and stuff from argos :)
