I'm 30. Am I supposed to be grown up now?

I find this mentality so strange, what is it that you feel changes over a matter of days when you turn 30?

Sneaks up on you out of nowhere. In my 30s i ended up with a red sports car and doing my assistant on my desk at work and also on the boardroom table ;)

Just remember folks..that if you thought the years 20 to 30 went quick, 30 to 40 go quicker, and 40 to 50 even quicker, and then by 50, they start racing by. :D

The motto...don't think you will have time to do all the things you want to do in your life...if you leave it all till your later years!!

True to that. With my grandma dying last week, it made this more real too. I was supposed to go visit her and my mum said we can go after Christmas when things are a bit less hectic, I said nah let's just do it now and booked a flight over for that coming weekend.
That was only 2 weeks ago and she never made Christmas. Don't put things off, live for now. Just do it as it's the only life you have! :)

Loved my 30's - best decade of my life. 41 now with 2 little kids. I think I'm finally feeling "grown up"!

Where is that funny age timeframe website...

Not too far off 30 now..

Seems like one of the big ones tbh.. trying to decide what to do for mine.. might go to Amsterdam with some mates. What did you do for yours?

We're as old as we feel!

If that was true, a person's age would vary from day to day, even from hour to hour.

Also, what does "feel" mean in that context?

I'm psychologically healthier than I've ever been. My life is stable and my finances are stable. I have even accumulated almost 2 months pay in savings, which is quite noteworthy for a minumum wage flunkey. I have all that I need and much that I want.

But I have constant pain, a damaged knee that limits what I can do to some extent, chronic circulation problems and working conditions that are deliberately constructed to cause me harm so that I am constantly reminded of my inferior status. In addition, I work split shifts and swing shifts and I work to order so I have no stability in working hours or days. I may work a 14 hour shift and then have to be back at work 10 hours later for another, for example. This, of course, grinds me down physically and I am often exhausted.

So how old do I feel?

Had a fight the other day (proper fisticuffs) and I'm still ruined. 10 years ago I'd have brushed it off. Being 32 has it's plusses though and I can't say I'd like to be 22 again, aside from the living a bit longer thing :p

46 here. Mentally I am a stronger person than in my 20's and I am in better physical shape and fitness than I was then. But I have picked up a lot of injuries along the way, both emotionally and physically. I feel a lot more tired and worn down now and I feel it when I have to work long hours like at present (I have been working 70 hour weeks for a couple of months now and it's hard at this age).

Problem with getting older is things start are break and go wrong.

ATM I pulled a muscle in my right calf and my left Achilles tendon has been given me grief for a couple of weeks now.

I currently walk like an 80 year old :(

My wife was 30 in March and was freaking out. I honestly couldn't care less. What's the deal?

This is the age where women start to lose their sexual market value whereas as its the complete opposite for men as around this age men start to become successful which increases their sexual market value
