Got this card today and I can only get my 5.1 rear speakers to work if I select 7.1 under playback devices in windows 10 is that right?

I have msi z97 gaming 7 mobo which I'm currently using on board audio with the direct power mode on,I take it I am supposed to disable this whilst using sound card?

I am not sure what else to disable in bios etc...
