Mystery tool?

Hi, does anyone know what this tool is for? It was found when clearing out a relative's house. It was in with measuring and drawing tools from the 1920s.

Or its a tool to help push poos through letterboxes.

I thought that as well, but when you google bevel gauge, it looks different and seems adjustable?

Well the one in the pic doesnt look fixed.

and its probably evolved somewhat since the 20s

Yeah you are right! I suppose newer ones are lockable to allow you to keep the angle, maybe this is it in primitive form

Might be worth a few bob. If the rest of the kit is in good condition (assuming you want rid off).
