Looking for Ideads of a worthy upgrade

ok, so it sounds like it was a good build then , i built it last Nov, so its good to see its still relivant today

Those coolers would all be nice upgrades. If you wanted to put a pretty high overclock on your cpu the AIO water cooler would be preferable and would be able to keep your cpu acceptably cool under that load. All the above will fit your case :)
 
Thank you, having never done liquid cooling before (Despite builig for a good 15 years) whats the pros and cons? and is it jkust a closed loop of liquid?

Indeed, Radiator, pump and cpu block all put together for you.
They perform well and can be deemed quieter than some standard coolers, they also look nicer and tidier.

If you want an upgrade right now, a 980ti will cure the itch but I would personally wait for Pascal to come around as your 970 isn't a bad card. :)
 
There is always something better "around the corner" upgrade with what's available at the time and be happy with it imho otherwise your always waiting for this inevitable around jr corner and as soon as it comes people always seem to wait for the next "but it's just around the corner "

It's just a endless loop :) I could understand if it was a week or two but pascal is still months away
 
pascal looks more of an upgrade than the 980ti in all fairness.

I assumed with the build being 13 months old that they'd be much to upgrade with plenty of gains , by the looks, a better cooling should be worth while and then the option of O/c is there if I need to squeeze out any forced perfoamnce betwen now andn next November ( thats the upgrade window I tend to have)

I also assume by Novemeber they'll be better i7's or whatever is next

So maybe the itch can be left for a few months ?
 
The current release date is expected to be mid 2016. Q2-3

Also it may seem like a better upgrade but in truth untill they are released one can only speculate!

fair enough, there just doesnt seem a huge amount of point such marginal gains currently, the cost of the system was only around £1000 as it is (new parts)
