So... while they still hold value, I'm considering reducing my Fury X's to one. I bought them both as I was running 4k at the time, but I've since changed monitor to the XR34 (3440x1440) and pretty much constantly hold 100+ fps in games supporting crossfire.
So the question is, why would/should I keep the second Fury X? Anyone have input?

Keep it would be my advice, unless you are in need of the money now or the near future. You will regret selling that second card when some of the more intense titles hit the market. Its better to be able to sustain 100+ than sacrificing 1 card and being stuck with 60 in current titles and possibly lower in future titles. Headroom is always nice to have.

The trouble is I'm more than likely going to be upgrading to Greenland when they're released (I would imagine in 6 months time) - so it's not really "future proof" to keep both... That's why I'm considering selling tbh.

You'd better hurry if you're selling because apparently large price drops are imminent.

I would just keep them. Won't be long before you will need them at that res.

Yeah I whacked it up on MM 10 minutes ago. Where did you hear about price drops? I suspect the price will be going up with Asetek's cease and desist to AMD - if AMD adhere to it at least, which will make things messy for a while anyway.

With the Asetek cease and desist notice, the Fury X might be even rarer and could increase/hols it's value if Asetek win their case. Interesting times ahead.

edit: Howling got there first :)

i would sell one, my single fury sits nicely in the xr34 freesync range, crossfire fury x must bit chomping on the bit to go faster, i would have bought it off you if it was for sale when i got the xr34

Tbf I think dual 980Ti's is also overkill for me too, but again I think they're gonna last me a fair while with the Gsync capabilities of this monitor. Hoping they last me til the Black Friday sales next year ;)

Anything sooner than September for new cards is very wishful thinking. ;)

If you are asking advice on what to do, you shouldn't have bought 2 in the first place and buying new tech will always result in a big hit and if you are gonna wait for greenland, best sell up and buy something cheap to tide you over, as Greenland won't be cheap either.

Congratulations!
You have done 30000 posts! :D

i think people are missing the point, he got a pair of fury x for 4k but moved to an acer xr34 which has a freesync range of 30hz - 75hz so a single fury x can hold those fps quite easy so makes perfect sense to offload one now then upgrade later

Was just about to say that exact thing in response to a few :P The pair was needed at the time and now it seems a little pointless as 1 is doing the job..
Anyway, it's on MM for anyone in the market ;)

I think it only affects the USA, so I somehow don't that happening. Keep looking at a Fury X from France, the French price currently is more in line with what I think it's worth. Fingers crossed for another discount :)
