I'm no hardware buff so after some advice. I saw in a thread people recommending the R9 380 which I was happy with as this was the card I have been looking to get. However someone said wait for the 380X. There are no 380X's on this site though.

The question is should I wait and pay the extra for the 380X?

Ah thanks. Any suggestions on the card? I was looking at the MSI 380 but notice they don't do a 380X card yet.

I would grab this one, as it will overclock to the levels that the higher priced cards sit at. It also has a good cooling solution.

Any reason you chose these?

For the price difference I'd say it's a no brainer.

From what I can see from online pics the HIS does not have a backplate while the others do, Plus they have higher stock clocks.

I also think Sapphire make the most effort with AMD due to being an AMD only company where as HIS seem to be sitting on there laurels a bit. I never considered HIS for my 7950 because I didn't like this cooler and it's still looking like the same cooler today.

From what I've read it does a fairly good job but as I said, no backplate and lower clocks.
