Gigabyte z97x, BIOS flash loose settings?

Need to flash BIOS to enable NVME compatibility.

Do motherboards now have the ability to retain settings or will I have to do what I did with my old Z97 and take photos of each BIOS page and input them back in again.

Yes it will lose the settings,use a USB stick and press f12 to take screenshots of each BIOS page/oc setting
