Hi all,

I'm speccing out a new rig and want to try my first WC build - equally for the noise reduction, extra cooling and aesthetics. I'm looking at an X99 rig with CPU watercooling and an Asus Poseidon 980ti, in the same loop. I've been looking to try and find some way of (relatively straightforwardly) hook a decent amount of radiator to the area currently occupied by the 200mm top fan. I've had a google but I can't see too many examples of this being done before?

My second question is around how much radiator space I'm likely to need for that set up. I'm thinking if I can get something in the region of 200x200 in the top and then likely a standard 120 on the back in series. Would that be enough cooling for the CPU and 980ti?

Whilst I'd much rather keep the case I have, I'm open to the fact that I may have to get a new one - so I'm equally keen to hear from people if you think its just not going to be possible. As the case is beastly enough I'm steering clear of an external rad.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! :)

I had antec 1200, it was a great air case, I thought about watercooling it one day but seems too much hassle. You'll have to do some serious modding to get a rad in the front, and then you'll lose all drive bays. You could squeeze a 240 in the back but it would be one hell of squeeze if it worked at all.

General rule of thumb for Rad space is 120mm+120mm for each component. so 360mm in your case.

Just buy a new case if i were you.

I use to have a water cooled 1200 but had to place the RX240 rad at the back externally. Didn't look great but did the job lol

After owning one I just switched cases to one that would make watercooling a lot easier.

Decent air case but water is a real pain.

This totally sums it up, thou the blurb try's to make out its a multi use case it was designed for very good airflow and that's it.

I too looked fitting a rad in the roof but due to the strange shapes and lots of plastic, there isn't really anything to mount to without massive modding.
