Hello,

I was looking for some advise on what to do, i have a gaming computer which is about 4 years old now, my current setup can run games like CSGO fine at 200 FPS however with the new generation of games its really struggling and rainbow six siege on the lowest settings is dropping FPA quiet often.

i have attached below my current setup, what i want to know what should i upgrade? i was thinking of upgrading the RAM and also the graphics card (nvidia gtx970?)

what would you do, what needs to be upgraded. or should i look at a whole new PC and sell this one off?

Thanks,

Gamer Infinity i7 DDR3 Configurator (NO MONITOR)

Yeah i know, it doesn't feel solid. It really depends on what needs changing to be honest.

its all about bang for buck but i can probably throw 500 into it at the moment.

There isn't anything wrong with the CPU, RAM & Motherboard so I would look at getting a new GPU. Assuming you're gaming at 1080p I would suggest a GTX970 which should give a nice boost when gaming. If you don't already have one, an SSD would be a great addition.

Took a while to decipher ( i think i could have done the enigma code faster ) but here are the specs a little easier on the eyes for everyone :)

CASE: Antec P183 Advanced Super Mid Tower Black
CPU: i7 920 @ 2.66GHz
CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster V8 Gaming CPU Cooler
HDD: 2TB Raid 0 configuration SATA-II
MOTHERBOARD: Asus P6T Deluxe V2 Intel X58
MEMORY: 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3/1600mhz
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
PSU: Corsair HX1000W
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5850

From the above i would say a SSD is a must!!! along with a new GPU a 970 would be great for 1080p If you are running a higher res monitor you may want to save for a 980Ti

Thanks guys. Yeah 1080p is all im playing in. dont have the money for 4k screen aswell right now ha.

I think a gtx 970 is the one then!

ive only had this system a few months.

My friend got this from them, he paid £1600 i think at the time as well

Not being funny but seriously that could have been balanced to give you a much better experience ( i don't mean to cause any annoyance by saying that )

:D Just to mention you might want to remove the competitors name :D but yeah upgrading to the SSD and gpu will give really decent performance boost.

As above, 970 and SSD and you'd be set. Moving to new architecture now may give you some visible increase in performance but overclock that beauty - easily get 4.5ghz on a decent cooler :)
